Donald Trump may not have to win the White House for the Senate to start voting on his agenda. Senate Democrats plan to force their Republican colleagues to take sides on the GOP presidential frontrunner's most controversial proposals by offering them as amendments to other bills this year.
"Since Republican leaders in the House and Senate have pledged loyalty to Trump, the obvious next step is to vote on his policies, including his unconstitutional plan to bar people from entering the United States based on their religion," Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said in a Thursday statement, referencing Trumpâs call for a ban on Muslim entry to the U.S. following the terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernardino. "These votes will give all Senators a chance to take a stand on the policy issues dominating the public debate-and Republicans a chance to stand with the frontrunner for their nomination."
The not-so-subtle intent is to embarrass Republican Senators facing tough reelection fights in the fall by making them reckon with Trump's most polarizing pronouncements. Vulnerable GOP incumbents in swing-states like Florida, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Wisconsin could find the proposition especially uncomfortable. Reid didn't indicate when Democrats would try to push the votes-though the annual process of assembling government-funding measures could provide an opportunity.
Reid's gambit-call it legislative trolling-is nothing new. In even-numbered years, lawmakers set aside most serious policymaking work to focus on positioning themselves for the election. President Obama acknowledged -SNIP-

PLEASE do this Democrats!
Good. It’ll make the schadenfreude in November that much more delicious.
Do it Reid. Do it. I want to see right off where all the traitors are. I know now it is most of them. only about a handful are on our side.
Reid is wrong on this. We are upset and don’t want to be blown up or our throats cuts or shot down at our work or other high value targets for sharia.
Who or what does it hurt to stop immigration for a time period? I will tell you who. Them, they cannot win the WH with only the BLM’s and LIV. They need all the invaders votes to put them over the edge and get that WH back in 2017.
It also hurts obamas plans......terror attacks here all the time. They want them here. Gun agenda would come at a faster rate then, plus the bonus of killing off many Americans.
I assume this means the Democrats who went along with cater’s outright ban of people from Iran will now now turn themselves in as traitors?

THAT IS NOT UNCONSTITUTIONAL!!!!!!! THE CONSTITUTION DOES NOT APPLY TO $^&@%W&(^@%#@ FOREIGNERS!!!!!!
TRUMP 2016!!!!!!!!
Sorry - ALL CAPS rant over.
How can the minority party in the Senate and House force legislation?
Because the majority party has as much backbone as a jellyfish.
“Vulnerable swing state Senators” like Pat Toomey and Mark Kirk?
We’ll be better off without them, believe me.
Three ways:
Ammendments
Points of Order
Roll Call Votes
Senator Reid is clearly noticing his irrelevancy, and that's just the way I like it. Go for it Harry.
Rats make their rules up and change them when they can and when it serves them .
So if the democrats introduce the legislation the Republicans get to improve “change” it to its actual purpose, which is to prevent Muslims that have lived or traveled to curtain country’s not be allowed into the U.S. unless their identity and past/current activities can be verified.
Democrats would lose with any type of common sense legislation.
“Since Republican leaders in the House and Senate have pledged loyalty to Trump...”
???
Also, there is that LAW from 1952 WHICH IS STILL VALID that is quite broad in its scope as to who can be barred entry from the United States, INCLUDING MUSLIMS.
So, what does it say when DEMOCRATS want to vote on Donald Trump policies? What does it say when HARRY REID, the one who 9 times out of 10, won’t even bring up a Republican bill to even have a vote on, is wanting to bring up a policy of someone who isn’t even IN government yet, and vote on it?
And some still say Trump isn’t a liberal/progressive? Hmmmphhh
Amazing how the Demon Rats can force votes, but Mitch McConnell kept saying how helpless he was when he was in the minority.
Did you read the article?
Didn’t think so.
Quiet, pleeb. You’re not supposed to notice details like that.
Back to work, to pay your taxes, that they give to someone else, under color of law.
Seems only the GOPe Republicans can force votes on Trump proposals.
