Breaking news to who? Tribe, Hillary and Trump are all buddies. Who cares what any of them say? You fail to realize that DT is a liberal just like Tribe and Hill.
If he gets the nomination he will break your heart how fast he swings left. And leave us in ruin appointing liberals to the courts.
I understand that is not your priority. But that is one of the most important factors in choosing a president.

Ditto. There is a sheep out there without his coat. There is a wolf with a spare. Beware.

And Alan Dershowitz is a liberal law professor that taught Cruz and said even though he disagreed with him on many things, Cruz was one of the smartest students he ever had. I don't even know what point Tribe is trying to make here, except to sound relevant.

Tribe was Cruz's law school teacher. Taught him everything he knows.

In his emails to the Guardian, Tribe discussed Cruz’s own approach to constitutional issues, noting that under “the kind of judge Cruz says he admires and would appoint to the supreme court - an ‘originalist’ who claims to be bound by the historical meaning of the constitution’s terms at the time of their adoption - Cruz wouldn’t be eligible because the legal principles that prevailed in the 1780s and 90s required that someone be born on US soil to be a ‘natural born’ citizen.”

He added: “Even having two US parents wouldn’t suffice for a genuine originalist. And having just an American mother, as Cruz did, would clearly have been insufficient at a time that made patrilineal descent decisive.

Pretty soon we’ll have FReepers quoting James Carville to back their positions.

I really think Cruz is a NBC.

But I’m no lawyer and I’m no crooked democrat trying to make Cruz ineligible to run or serve.

I think Trump has the best chance of winning the presidency but I’d have zero problem if Cruz could win... I favor him above all others. He’s not perfect... but who is.

His slight waffling on immigration issues worried me a bit and the trade vote. Both might be explained by his need to raise donor cash to run... I don’t think he’d be soft on either matter if he became president.

If Tribe had endorsed Cruz, you’d be saying he was the smartest man on the planet.

No I wouldn't. With all that hyperbole flying our your wazoo you must be a Trump supporter. :-)

Tribe was one of Cruz’s law school professors and he did not teach Cruz everything that Cruz knows. That is a grossly inaccurate characterization of how law schools work. Cruz was a student with many professors - not Tribe’s apprentice.

When Cruz applied to clerk for conservative Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, he provided two references - one from his most liberal professor and one from his most conservative professor. Neither of them was named Tribe and Cruz landed one of the most prized position any young lawyer can get.
