Donald Trump says Ted Cruz should leave the presidential race

WASHINGTON— Donald Trump stepped up his attack on Sen Ted Cruz’s eligibility to run for president Wednesday calling for Cruz to drop out of the race.

Donald J Trump
@realDonaldTrump
"Sadly, there is no way that Ted Cruz can continue running in the Republican Primary unless he can erase doubt on eligibility. Dems will sue!"

Trump recently warned the GOP that if Cruz becomes the nominee ,the party would be risking the White House. Trump claims Democrats would hold up the election in court, litigating whether or not Cruz is considered a natural born citizen.

Trump’s views on Cruz’s eligibility have changed throughout the campaign.

The first time he was asked about Cruz’s Canadian birth in 2013, Trump, the loudest ‘birther’ questioning the legitimacy of President Barack Obama citizenship, wasn’t sure if Cruz was qualified. Trump was still not convinced last March, months before announcing his own bid for president. By September, Trump said he was confident Cruz had the legal standing to run.

So if the Mouth is so sure Cruz is not qualified to run why doesn’t the fool file a suit himself?

Come on Donald, quit your bitching put your money where your mouth is...

See how that works for you.
********************************************************************************
Well, I’m sure that the Trumpster’s lawyers have told Trump that he DOES have standing to sue if he wished.

I’m also sure that they made Trump aware that Cruz would NOT be granted standing because he (Cruz) hasn’t been prohibited/barred from being on ANY state’s ballots for the primary.

Of course, Trump wants this as an issue so he would never sue and risk the near certain outcome-—a summary judgement that Ted Cruz was a citizen at birth and not later naturalized.

Trump reeks period, but I hope he keeps this up. It will either help Cruz, or reveal that the conservative movement is dead and I shouldn’t bother with it anymore.

Actually, He has been all over the map. Right now he is claiming to be a Republican. Who knows what he will be next year.

Donald Trump voter registration:
Republican (2012–present)
Independent (2011–12)
Republican (2009–11)
Democratic (2001–09)
Reform (1999–2001)
Republican (1987–99)
Democratic (Before–1987)

Shows that Trump has no clue that there have been TONS of folks that have first choice and second choice, of Trump/Cruz or Cruz/Trump, and that looking ahead, if his is #1, he needs to clump together with the support of those that have Cruz as #1.

He has lost this one.
***************************************************
I’m a second one Trump has lost...he’s revealed what he is and what he isn’t—and he sure as hell is NOT a conservative.

Boo hoo. Get over it Trump is a winner. If Cruz deserves it he has to take it. Maybe he will. But Trump takes no prisoners.

-- Do they know that Trump was a Democrat? --

I would assume not. Most people have substantial gaps in knowledge. I would wish and hope that caucus goers would know that Trump was once a Democrat. My question was whether or not they should know that Cruz was born in Canada.

It will be interesting seeing how Cruz responds to this

Not sure if matters at this point. Cruz & Trump supporters should be pretty locked in on their candidate by now.

It's kinda like driving by a car wreck when Trump says something like this as you know Cruz supporters are going to squeal and gnash their teeth. You just can't help taking a peek.

Please reread my post. I didn’t say his campaign has imploded. I merely stated that some people have thought it eventually would implode. Trump going after Cruz’ eligibility to hold the office of President is not going to help Trump in the long run.

If Trump pushes hisss psition in this next debate, Cruz is going to crush him on it. You think Cruz is not going to be fully prepared for this question? Could be the highlight of the night.

Donald Trump is no Ronald Reagan.
Ronald Reagan was a Republican for considerably a long time before becoming president.
Donald Trump has supported and donated to Democrats as recent as 2010 - Harry Reid!
(when he was registered as a Republican.)

Ronald Reagan:
President: 1981-1989
Republican (1962 and after)
Democratic (before 1962)

Donald Trump began his career as a little bit of everything. But mainly he identify's mostly as a democrat.

Donald Trump:
Republican (2012–present)
Independent (2011–12)
Republican (2009–11)
Democratic (2001–09)
Reform (1999–2001)
Republican (1987–99)
Democratic (Before–1987)

Yes it’s a political tactic, but all Trump is saying is that Ted needs to resolve this BEFORE the election. So resolve it.

Get it up to SCOTUS I think Cruz will win and it’ll give him a big boost.

...willing to take in the left...

I have no doubt President Trump would live up to you wildest dreams on that score. He'll take them into his cabinet, his confidence, the Supreme Court, etc. Conservatives will be left out in the cold.
