Buzz off.
I'd be more careful in your characterizations. There are a lot of us “relics” hanging around here. Pat was a senior adviser to Nixon, Ford and Reagan. He wrote a great syndicated column for many years. When he hosted Crossfire... it was a decent show. In 1996 he was runner up to Bob Dole in the Republican primary. I still find his opinion to be very relevant. You either are very young or have a short memory; in his time Pat Buchanan was very relevant.
I would take it a step further. No one in the candidate field has even a fraction of the rally success that Trump has. It is as if Trump is playing his opposition like a fiddle and they dance to whatever tune he wants.
His social media presence growing at 1 million per month and 12 million strong now makes it impossible for the media to shape Trump public opinion.
Hell! He even trounced Hillary on the war on women thing to the point where she shuts up now and does not even bring it up. This is simply yuge and a testament to Trump’s power when he can silence the leading dem candidate.
Trump is definitely not the new Pat Buchanan.
Pat never had $11 billion and a 757.
I do see some similar issues such as nationalism and love of sovereignty. Pat was a leader on immigration control way back in the 90s ( before it was the #1 issue it is now) . Their stylistically dissimilar but on budget, immigration and military I see them close on those issues.
He wrote a great book pre-Bush days, “A Republic, Not An Empire”...I don’t know, sounds pretty relevant to me.
What Trump understands that most do not even on FR is that he thinks like a very successful businessman selling his product. Trump knows that you constantly have to sell and expand the markets for your products. If you have ever had a sales career, you know you have to be prospecting all the time otherwise markets shrink.
Pat Buchanan is a market with people who are open to his message. If Buchanan speaks positively of Trump, Trump picks up more sales. It is that simple.
Very few understand the Trump genius including me but it works beyond all expectations.
Absolutely Trump is a phenomenon and he’s scaring the left and the political class to death because they know in their hearts he will win. Unless there is some major defeat for him I don’t see how anyone else becomes the nominee.
People say outrageous things to grab attention. The heck with reality.
I just posted this on FR about the fact that the protesters in Vermont’s Trump rally were Bernie Sanders operatives. If the dems are now doing this to Trump, that tells me that Trump is viewed as the candidate to beat and the de facto front runner. A big feather in Trump’s cap.

That is exactly right. He also trusts his own instincts and is not afraid to go against conventional wisdom. We need someone like that to alter the downward spiral this country is on. There is nothing more disappointing than all these people who have campaigned on conservative causes and when they have gotten to Washington you hardly hear another peep from them. Does anyone think that Trump will do that?
Is Trump the new Ronald Reagan?
Drudge: “DEM DEFECTION: 20% FOR TRUMP”
Then all the downsides come to pass within months or years, and now the media says that the people calling out the destruction are merely copycats or throw-backs to the people who warned of the destruction.
The next president, on his first day in office, should order drone strikes on all the major journalism schools. /sarcasm
Reagan Democrats.
“Pat Buchanan was never popular.”
Pat Buchanan was VERY popular with this web forum.
Notice the difference between CNN-Ross Perot and CNN-Trump
Perot was used as to tool to get Clinton voted in.
Trump will be the tool to keep Clinton voted out.
Delicious, intoxicating thought!
I finally got the video to play. Regardless of what on might think about the interviewer or Pat Buchanan it was a very good interview. Pat’s observations are still relevant today and what he was warning about 25 years ago has come to pass.
As usual, CNN is clueless.
