A former U.S. attorney thinks Hillary Clinton could face a criminal indictment from the FBI within the next 60 days.
Joe DiGenova, a Republican U.S. attorney appointed by President Reagan, said Clinton's "biggest problem right now" is the open FBI investigation into the contents of her private emails.
"They have reached a critical mass in their investigation of the secretary and all of her senior staff," DiGenova said Tuesday on the "Laura Ingraham Show" radio program. "And, it's going to come to a head, I would suggest, in the next 60 days."
FBI Director James Comey has refused to answer questions about when his agents will wrap up a months-long probe into whether Clinton and her staff mishandled classified information on an unsecured network.
Clinton's campaign has maintained that the investigation is not focused on Clinton herself and is not criminal in nature.
"It's going to be a very complex matter for the Department of Justice, but they're not going to be able to walk away from it," DiGenova said. "They are now at over 1,200 classified emails. And, that's just for the ones we know about from the State Department. That does not include the ones that the FBI is, in fact, recovering from her hard drives."
The former U.S. attorney noted Clinton has yet to be interviewed by the FBI, a step he said will likely occur before agents make their findings public.
But DiGenova warned the decision to charge Clinton personally with a crime lies with Attorney General Loretta Lynch, putting the Obama administration in a difficult political position.
"I believe that the evidence that the FBI is compiling will be so compelling that, unless [Lynch] agrees to the charges, there will be a massive revolt inside the FBI, which she will not be able to survive as an attorney general. It will be like Watergate. It will be unbelievable," DiGenova said.
"The evidence against the Clinton staff and the secretary is so overwhelming at this point that if, in fact, she chooses not to charge Hillary, they will never be able to charge another federal employee with the negligent handling of classified information," he added. "The intelligence community will not stand for that. They will fight for indictment and they are already in the process of gearing themselves to basically revolt if she refuses to bring charges."
Back in the mid-90’s the U.S. Organized Crime Task Force operating under the unified command of US Attorney Mary Jo White (Southern District, NY, the most powerful USA office in the country), returned an approximate 215 count indictment against the LIUNA organization, Labors International Union of North America, a major (millions of dollars contributors to the Clintons and the Democrat Party).
That indictment was quashed on orders from then Attorney General Janet Reno, and an outside “trustee” or “administrator” was appointed to help the union clean out the Mafia people in it (over 200 were supposedly ousted by LIUNA’s leader, the son of a convicted/jailed Mafia figure, Arthur Coia.
The Clinton FIX was in.
In a most devastating article on this criminal coverup, Byron York, in “Let’s Be Friends: A Mob Controlled Union Delivers the Goods for Bill”, The American Spectator, April 1997, p. 30, wrote:
“It had taken the government three years to compile the case - and three months to drop it. The speed of the settlement led many observers to conclude that there must have been a deal between Coia and his good friend and political beneficiary Bill Clinton. What else could explain such lenient treatment for a man the government had branded a corrupt union boss?”
The paragraph above set the stage for what I wrote immediately above, and once you read it, you’ll understand the whole sordid affair.
“A first, the situation did not look good for Coia (Jr). The Justice Department has prevailed in RICO cases against two other corrupt unions, the Teamsters and the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Workers. But this time, things turned out quite differently. After 3 months of back-and-forth talks, in February 1995, the Justice Department backed down. The government dropped the RICO action - and then dropped the demand that Coia leave office. Then, in a move that baffled veteran prosecutors and even some officials inside the union, the Department enlisted Coia — a man one top prosecutor referred to as “a mob puppet” — in the task of ridding the union of Mafia influence. Arthur Coia had won a stunning victory.”
P. 32 details how much Mob money, often raised by Coia Jr., went to the Democratic National Committee, the U.S. Botanical Garden (which Hillary liked), the “Back to Business” committee set up by Dem lobbyists to defend Clinton against charges of wrongdoing in the Whitewater and Travelgate scandals etc.
Once you read the whole article, you will know just how criminally and politically corrupt the Clintons were, aided and abetted by a once-admired Attorney General Janet Reno.
We have the same situation today with Obama, Holder and now Lynch, with Hillary again in the same position of being protected from criminal prosecution.
PS: I worked on a part of the LIUNA RICO case, the assets seizure phase, which was set up to find evidence on what assets (houses, cars, boats, other property) privately owned (by Mafia members or front-people), were used to conduct criminal activities (as defined by the RICO statutes).
With Clinton and DOJ throwing in the indictment/asset seizure prosecution, the Mafia escaped losing millions in property esp. hunting and fish clubs, small restaurants, etc. which were used to plan their criminal activities.
So many brave American law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to obtain the information needed for these indictments, yet they were betrayed by the Clinton machine just like Obama/Hillary betrayed our brave men in Benghazi.
This is one of the major reasons America has gone to hell in the past 20 years - treason and criminality at the highest levels of government, with no accountability of any consequence, even from the Republicans, gutless, ball-less, and Stuck on Stupid.
“Hillary Clinton could face a criminal indictment from the FBI”
Man, if I just had the time I could write like Tolstoy.
The American people don’t require accountability, just helpful “programs”.
Interesting prediction. It may come to that, as I do not believe Obama will allow indictment and prosecution to go forward. He needs Clinton in the White House to protect and metastasize his so called "legacy."
Beyond that, there are many in the FBI who still must feel shame about the way the Clinton administration made bitches out of them back in the 90's, and they will be senior enough to have "F* you" security by now. We shall see.
I doubt she will be indicted, but have thought Obama would not want Hillary to succeed him.
Yeah, it says $450M, but you reduce it to the cash option then take off the taxes, and what do you have, about $180M? That’s chump change. Call me back when I can count on some real money.
Isn't that their dream? Remember Ambassador Joe Wilson and Ray McGovern and Dan Ellsberg's 'Truth-telling Project' where they were inciting government employees to leak??
And BS!!!
That is NOT a wedding ring!!! Does she EVER wear her wedding ring??
If she doesn’t get an indictment, then NO ONE CAN EVER BE INDICTED for giving out secrets!!! ANYONE that will be charged will just have to say...”WHAT ABOUT HILLARY?”!!
“I believe that the evidence that the FBI is compiling will be so compelling that, unless [Lynch] agrees to the charges, there will be a massive revolt inside the FBI, ...(snip)...They will fight for indictment and they are already in the process of gearing themselves to basically revolt if she refuses to bring charges.”
Not an inappropriate end to eight years of criminal administration.
He is one tough cookie. I wish he were head of DOJ.
This will be easy for me to say, and would be a very difficult sacrifice for you to make.
Can you facilitate and organize a campaign to expose them, to prevent the catastrophic election of Clinton?
An independent “swift boating” of her during this presidential campaign could be decisive, as it was for Kerry.
Your information could lead to a very successful publication, as well.
I respect your position and understand what consequences may follow.
No “maybe” about it, comments show the main point DiGenova made is being ignored.
He did not predict her indictment.
He predicted the FBI will not sit still and do nothing while her crimes are covered up, but will engage in mass resignations in protest and will go public.
So that’s the key element to watch for, instead of repeating ad nauseum that somehow these comments are refuting DiGenova.
They aren’t.
He promised there will be huge, historic consequences if she ISN’T indicted.
That’s what his sources are telegraphing.
These people are protected by the Prince of the Air.
I want to see Slick and Beast hanged in chains from the tallest redwood in California.
No way Lynch goes ahead. I’d pop open a bottle of champagne if she did but it won’t happen and that open revolt will more likely be retirements and promotions and the FBI will forget all about it.
He’s missed most if not all filing deadlines.
Reno/Holder/Clinton, now Holder/Lynch/Obama
Clinton's pardons (Jan 20, 2001) in his final hours as president should be headline news, along with his FALN Commutations in 1999 of 16 terrorists to win Hillary the NY Senate seat.
The rot and stench of corruption around the Clintons and those who support them is beyond description.
