PHOENIX â Some came for the vast selection of semiautomatic rifles, arrayed in glass display cases and atop folding tables. Others were shopping for handguns, including .38 Specials with pink handles, while still more showed up here Friday at the largest gun show in the West to buy ammunition for the guns they already owned.

âWhat if someone comes after me or my family?â said Janet Winkler, a grandmother who was shopping for bullets to fill the revolver inside her purse. âI used to never carry it to Target or to Wal-Mart, but the way things are, after all thatâs happened, now I do.â
In the wake of mass shootings in Paris, Colorado Springs and San Bernardino, Calif., Americans are once again arming themselves â stocking up on guns and ammunition, bringing weapons into their daily routines and requesting refresher courses from firing ranges.

I noticed long lines too,
most were Noobies.
It just shows there are still some with common sense. Buying guns makes a lot more sense than the Dems showing up at the mosques after the muslim killer’s rampage.
A lot of the online vendors for ammo, accessories, and such also seem to be particularly busy, even considering the holidays. All these "anecdotals" have me convinced that a big chunk of the "mushy middle" have finally figured out that TPTB aren't benign anymore, and that things are likely to get bad enough to require more than platitudes.

Today Beau and I are going out to lunch, shopping for ammo and getting in a little Range Time.
Life. Is. Good.
Granted, we do this on a regular basis whether there’s been a recent TERRORIST ATTACK or not. ;)
Is that an actual cover for the New Yorker? If so, they have reached a new level that far surpasses anything even Goebbels could have dreamed of. Disgusting.

Is that a Hickock 45 reference by chance?
Private deals can be made without CC/BC but most people take steps to reduce liability.
That’s a good discount. Good work this close to Christmas.
Me too, friend, me too. I’m a 65 y.o. grandmother who will soon be carrying concealed - just waiting on the whole navel-gazing background check delays. 13 calendar days, so far, because of the long holiday thrown into the mix. In the meantime, I’m at the range almost daily honing my skills with a compact. Whether it’s defending me or mine against terrorism or tyranny, I intend to be prepared.
After almost 40 years of marriage, my wife and I have started the process of obtaining a handgun for the first time.

Went to Cabelas yesterday and it was busy but no more busy than it normally is. Only waited less than 3 minutes before I was talking with a sales person.
Charlton Heston, the man who helped single handedly get the 1968 Gun Control Act passed when it was all but dead. Never lifted a finger to repeal it in his 40 years after.
Congratulations. My guess is that this will not be your last. I found out it is addictive.
I concur. Actual firearms prices were very high. I usually went for reloading components and ammo. Used to always find very good deals.
In times like this, they’re looking for the suckers with more money than sense. They’re capitalizing on short-term impulsive fear.
LOL! No. Though Beau probably watches those videos... I’ll ask. ;)

I encourage you look for training courses in your area taught by qualified instructors such as those sponsored by the NRA. Professional training and frequent practice will reap great benefits if you're ever called to use the weapon for personal defense.
For already skilled and highly proficient shooters, I note that in some areas of the country, Texas for one, advanced training courses are available to civilians on terrorist/active shooter interdiction tactics and weapons.
