I encourage you look for training courses in your area taught by qualified instructors such as those sponsored by the NRA. Professional training and frequent practice will reap great benefits if you're ever called to use the weapon for personal defense.

For already skilled and highly proficient shooters, I note that in some areas of the country, Texas for one, advanced training courses are available to civilians on terrorist/active shooter interdiction tactics and weapons.
