Republican Trump drops 12 percentage points in poll: Reuters/Ipsos [Trump 30%, Carson 2nd with 11%]

U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump's support among Republicans has dropped 12 points in less than a week, marking the real estate mogul's biggest decline since he vaulted to the top of the field in July, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Trump was the favorite of 31 percent of Republicans in a rolling poll in the five days ended on Nov. 27. That was down from a peak of 43 percent registered on Nov. 22.

The dip follows criticism of Trump for comments he made in the aftermath of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more.

Following the attacks, Trump told an NBC News reporter that he would support requiring all Muslims within the United States to be registered to a special database, which his critics have likened to the mandatory registration of Jews in Nazi Germany.

Trump has also been criticized for flailing his arms and distorting his speech as he mocked a New York Times reporter, Serge Kovaleski, who is disabled.

Trump mocked the reporter as he defended his unsubstantiated assertion that during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the United States, he watched on television as "thousands and thousands" of people in New Jersey cheered while the World Trade Center fell.

Still, Trump is not the only front-runner to slide in the latest survey.

Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson has seen his poll numbers drift downward and now trails Trump by more than half, with just 15 percent of Republicans polled saying they would vote for him in the same Nov. 27 poll. As recently as late October, Carson trailed Trump by only six points.

Following Carson, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Texas Senator Ted Cruz are tied for third place, with more than 8 percent each.

So you don't believe the reporter and the multiple articles and interactions he has had with the Donald because you attended a rally in Columbus?

ok...

“Inflated?” It’s perfectly in line with OAN, Morning Consult, and with Battleground IOWA (where Trump is at 30). If anyone has been overinflated in the recent polls it’s Cruz.

Cruz has the same ideology as Reagan, you cannot convince me that he would govern like Obama. Obama is a horrible president not because of his short time in politics when he got to the Oval Office, Obama is a horrible president because he is a hard left ideologue who pursues statist policies that cripple America. If Cruz where to get in, he would have the conservative policies and will to implement them that would turn this country around.

What’s left wing about my talking points? I merely pointing out what Trump has said and what the reporter has stated on their relationship backed up by the articles he has wrote on Trump throughout the years.

12 meetings with a public figure, including press briefings, by the time you get to two or three articles, it is not uncommon at all to meet with public figures for an interview.

The reporter is PHYSICALLY DISABLED, but yes, those working for the N.Y. Slimes are also mentally disabled; all lefties are.

Trump said "...you got to see this guy " because he is imagining what a crazy lefty "reporter" of BS is like !

I never said he would govern like Obama. LOL I would not say I would vote for him if I did. I said he is a freshman Senator like Obama was. Cruz is not an America hating ass like Obama.

Geesh.

The poor little lying scum bag NYT report was mocked by big bad Donald Trump.

That left wing talker point.

That lying scum bag reporter did one hit piece after another on Sarah Palin. We should all be mocking him. Maybe if the commies that want to give the USA to the billionaire globalists started paying a price for being lying scum bags they'd think twice before attacking us.

Cruz is a good guy,but he hasn’t “crushed” anyone you mentioned, nor any other reporter , for that matter.

LOL, I just meant that Hillary will be easy to beat. She is a terrible candidate, corrupt to the core, incompetent and under investigation by the FBI.

I think if I shaved every day, only had a couple of scotches at night and got Trump to fund me I could beat her.

Twelve meetings with a public reporter including press briefings is a very sketchy history over 26 years. That’s one roughly every 2 years with multiple press people there.

He could have had 10 press briefings over 26 years and still have only met Trump once or twice in that time. Him being buried in the reporter pool is no real claim to buttress the idea Trump know him.

If those two meetings were 1989 to 1995, who would remember?

I can’t remember 10% of the reps I used to meet on a weekly basis twenty years ago. They could say, “Yes I met with him regularly and he sure does know me!” Well, I wouldn’t.

Sovievsky’s big claim was that he was with Trump all day one day in 1989. This was the launch of the Trump shuttle. That day there were a number of other reporters in tow.

Sovievsky is convinced Trump does know him. I’m not convinced.

He remembers Trump because Trump is a public figure. Why would Trump remember him? I’m not saying that for a put down, but seriously...

That Reuter’s poll is a tricky thing to look at.

You move your cursor over the screen and it changes dates on you so quick you don’t even realize it.

Until a couple of weeks ago it did show Curz at 5%. One of it’s current versions right now shows him at 7%.

It’s a decent attempt at a poll you can hone down to be very specific about what you want to see, but it’s also a bit difficult to navigate successfully too.

There are quite a few, who are running, who wouldn't be able to beat Hillary; sadly. Carson, Rubio, jebbie, etc. couldn't.

OTOH, I could beat her and so could many other Freepers.

“But, Trump decides to take a cheap shot and make fun of someone’s disability that they can’t control...”

Trump did that? Can you post evidence that that happened. And the NYT and Washington Post don’t count.
