The common defense to criticisms of racial disparities in police use of force takes the form of a question: "But what about black-on-black crime?" The conservative argument is that black people are disproportionately killed by gun violence in their own communities, so perhaps they should worry about that before they worry about what police are doing.
On Tuesday night, Fox News's Mike Tobin put the black-on-black crime question to a protester in Chicago, Brendan Glover, after the release of a video showing the police shooting of Laquan McDonald. Here's how it played out, as shown in the video above posted by Media Matters:

If Black lives REALLY mattered these same people would have been protesting the brutal assassination murder of a 9 year old little boy who was lured into an alley and shot in the head and back by gang banging thugs..his own parents could have given a rats behind about him, his father wouldnt help the cops, his mother went out and bought a new car..that little 9 year boy never stood a chance and I never saw these Soros paid protesters marching in that little boys honor, of course not, he wasn’t killed by a cop so no money can be made

What I heard the racist black idiot say was essentially, “ all neighborhoods where there are black people are gonna have crime, and the last thing we need to fix it is have is cops coming down here and trying to doi something about it...
His “argument” is, Blacks cannot trust police due to their violence toward blacks, therefore Blacks are afraid to call the police when crime happens, which therefore leads to more black on black crime because it is unimpeded by the law.
Then, the author of the article on Vox, says that the police, “over-police” low level/non-violent crime (i.e. drug use), yet “under-police” real violent crime.
So, I guess the article is saying that the police should look the other way on drug trafficking (which, according to the article, is “non-violent”), and really focus on murder, rape, etc. Yet, many Blacks, according to the author, are reluctant to call the police in reporting violent crime. And, further, many Blacks refuse to cooperate with the police even when they are called in.
In other words, the response by the protester is “Blacks are not responsible for Black on Black crime - it is the fault of the trigger happy police. Which brings us back full circle to the argument that all Black problems are due to someone else - i.e. Whites. Of course.
So they complain that the police are “over” policing. Well when the police back off such as in Baltimore the murders and crimes jump way up. They are trying to have it both ways.
Vox: something some millennials like to pretend is analysis and thoughtful reflection.

I make it a policy to pay no attention to: (1) articles from any website where commenting is not allowed; and (2) articles from about 99% of websites behind a paywall. Screw them both.

that’s why even though Freepers hate Wapo or the LAT, even yahoo for being Dem propaganda garbage cans, they allow comments which obviously lean to the right if you read most of them.
