I once ran across a lawsuit from Mississippi, I think it was. A man was accused of fraud because he went and bought something with Confederate money as soon as he had heard that Lee had surrendered but before it was widely known--the implication was that the seller would have refused to accept the Confederate money if he had realized that Lee had already surrendered.

An early insider-trading case? LOL!

The stupid should lose in all such cases!

It depends on your scoring criteria; this is a tough competition. But you're right that the thug currently occupying our White House is uniquely gifted when it comes to evil.

I've seen (the outside of) Wilson's birthplace in Staunton and his crypt in the National Cathedral, and stopped at his service plaza on the NJ Turnpike a few times heading to NYC or points beyond. But I've been no closer to Princeton than Princeton Jct. on Amtrak (3 times).

Oh, and the hospital in Chester, PA where I was born is at 9th and Wilson Sts. (but that street probably *isn't* named for Potus 28. :)

The Confederacy died at Appomattox Courthouse (and the principles of the American Revoloution along with it). You can say it lasted another month because some units hadn't formally surrendered yet if you want. But that hardly supports your remark.

You say the Confederacy died at Appomattox. But most Southerners would say it lived on, even to this day. The Confederate flag has been a rallying symbol for any number of Southern causes.
