Speaking at the Family Leader's Presidential Family Forum in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz had some harsh words for President Obama. The Republican presidential candidate believes that the president is tearing at the fabric of society by undermining the freedom of religion.
And he's not willing to let that happen.
"It is the first right protected in the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights. It is the foundation of everything else in America. If you canât worship God, all other liberties are taken away." Although many people seem to believe that the freedom of speech is the most important natural right, that has not been the case historically. The liberty movement began centuries ago with the realization that people were born with the natural right to worship God as they pleased. Since religion and the government (or actually: the king) were intertwined back then, this was a truly revolutionary concept. Once that right was recognized, other liberties - such as the freedom of speech - followed suit.
But it all started with the freedom of religion.
Cruz is better versed in the history of liberty than any of the other candidates, and proved that in Des Moines. He continued:
"When Barack Obama in San Francisco talks about the American people back in 2008 (as) bitter and angry and clinging to our God and our guns â well, weâre not bitter, we are getting pretty angry. And, you know what, he canât have either our God or our guns.â

And Cruz has hit Rubio even harder. You will need to hear some of the Cruz attack ads on Rubio. And guess who shot up in Iowa (Cruz) and who's poll numbers went diving in Iowa(Rubio).
LOL! Dude, you need to get out more. That, or you have very selective vision.
" You try to insult Trump for calling people names but youâre no better."
BS. Some of the more rabid Trump lovers swarm Cruz threads the moment they're posted, spitting, hissing, and having fits. The behavior is exactly that of crazed liberals. If you don't like being called on the antics, don't participate.
BTW, loud, flailing gasbaggery and Twitter threats aren't "fighting." I'll take a man who has been in the trenches and a man who hits hard, like steel, but does so effectively and with grace. That man is Cruz. You're welcome to your reality star if you really want him.
"btw, we;re not losing sleep over Cruz or anyone else."
LOL, of course not. That's why you rush to Cruz threads to shout that he doesn't have a chance and Trump is unstoppable, yelling dumb slogans like TRUMPTRUMPTRUMP, abusing the cap key and the exclamation marks, etc.
All that effort and hysteria for someone who isn't a threat? You guys aren't fooling anyone but yourselves.
Not sure what is sick about the very valid point that American Constitutionalist made. Trump supporters are extremely hypocritical when they complain about Cruz supporters being insulting. Trump supporters are constantly trolling Cruz threads and insulting his supporters.
Yes, they have. Lately I've been noticing a contempt for Cruz's evangelical Christianity among a few of them. I've seen posts which say we don't need a pastor as president, that Cruz supporters are too pious, etc.
Then they're no better. The Democrat argument of "He did it too" doesn't change that.
If you don't like being called on the antics, don't participate.
You can look back at my comments forever, I don't trash anyone. As far as what threads I can participate in, that's unlimited.
The point I was trying to make was inspite that they deny that it is happening, anyone can go and look and do some research and find plenty of examples of it happing by the Trump supporters.
I don’t deny that I am guilty of it, guilty as charged.
I told the Trump supporter that both sides need to stop, fair enough ?
They agreed, I am good with that.
Sounds good to me.
Oh, yeah, anyone can participate on any thread.
But if Trump fans swarm Cruz threads acting like a bunch of rabid hyenas, they won’t be met with kisses.
But Ted Cruz’s dad is already a Evangelist.
No, Ted Cruz is not a pastor, but he is not ashamed of his belief or who he believes in.
Whips& Chains?
Yes, I am good with it..
What have you to say Trump supporters ?
Exactly. I’m not going to try and excuse Cruz’s beliefs for people who are sliding leftward in order to support a liberal.
Hmmm...
I want to say something, but...nah, LOL
YES YES YES!!! I agree whole heartedly
GO TED GO!!!
.. and THAT is the making of a good President! GO TED GO!!!!
"Whistling past the graveyard" applies, I do believe.
Be well.
I agree that Trump is the only one who can beat Hillary...not Cruz or Rubio.
“...The good news is that Trump can usher in an age where Cruz is viable....”
Well said.
Trump is the old way, bread and circuses.
