My Favorite Part of Winter USED to be Watching it on TV from CALIFORNIA (before I high tailed it outta there).

Yup, if we don’t eat em, we sodomize city slickers out here.

Pictures of snow are pretty. My opinion is when water quits running it sucks.

I like living in the swamp and Michigan is definitely a swamp.

I am in the Quad Cities (Iowa - Mississippi river). We got about 6 inches. About an hour north in Dubuque, they got about ten inches.

It’s only a big deal for the idiots who don’t know how to drive in snow, and the people driving next to them.

Friends of mine up in Woodstock and the far N.W. side of Chicago are reporting far more than 12 inches of snow. Parts of Woodstock are over 18 inches already.

Here about 25 miles SW of Chicago we have about 4 inches on the ground now, the wind keeps shifting from the N.W. to the N.E. Coming from the N.E. that is really making the size of the snowflakes much larger and increasing the density of the snow as we're getting more moisture off Lake Michigan.

Earlier forecasts said this was going to letup around 3pm CST -- that's not happening. This storm is literally stalling right over our heads, so the moisuture being brought off the lake is turning into snow and getting dumped on us here on the SW side of Chicago.

Weather forcasters are saying we'll get 6-8 inches out here before this is over. Up in Woodstock and the far N.W. suburbs they got far more than anyone predicted last night. They had an easy 12 inches plus by this morning when it was predicted they'd get around 8 inches by the time the storm passed this afternoon. The storm stalling overhead is why.

Downers Grove is North West of me, they're getting the heaviest stuff right now along the I-88 corridor.

Glad I got my snowthrower ready yesterday, we're going to need it when this stuff stops falling.

Then there's the fun I'm going to have with the 13 year old gas guzzling SUV before they clear the roads out here in rural Will County! :-)

Minneapolis enjoying a green Thanksgiving. Not a flake there this week.

That's unusual. What did they all do, leave???

Minneapolis is known for having a fairly large flake community.

Rolling Meadows, about 15 miles NW of O'Hare, we have about 8-10 inches.

An hour ago it was still snowing and blowing and the roads were pretty bad. The drivers were worse.

Now that it has stopped, the roads are getting to be more slushier.
