His 20+% support among the GOP's radical fringe is not enough to carry him to the convention next Summer
The author does not understand the appeal of Trump at ALL. I'm a Cruz supporter, but Trump pulls from independents and black voters at a high rate. He is NOT campaigning as a full-spectrum conservative. He's running as Donald Trump. You can call it populist, but that isn't quite it either. What he ISN'T is fringe. The folks at Salon likely think that the fringe element is larger in Alabama and South Carolina than in Massachusetts, but Trump does better in Massachusetts (one poll had him at 50% of likely Republican voters).

He’s polling something like 5th place in his own state of Florida. No one likes him, he’s in the toilet. The ship has sailed. Rubs is absorbing much of his support, that the author thinks Rubs is “too inexperienced” is irrelevant, Barack Obama was “too inexperienced”. If Rubs falters, it still won’t be Jeb, he’s lost his place as the “GOPE” frontrunner, they want to prevent Cruz (or the other dude everyone likes here) from winning, Jeb plainly can’t win. I would assume they’d support Carson if they had to. Trying to ressurct FIFI are pump up lard boy Chrsitie Creme are also more viable options that resurrecting Jeb, in my opinion.s in the toilet. He’s probably wishing he have run, some RINOs practically begged him it sounded like. He’s a loser but Jeb, Kasich, and Christie have been such duds he’d probably be the GOPE horse over them.
Brokered convention is a circus waiting to happen. It would be like the Speaker election times 10000.
