President Obama hopes to make gun control the top issue of his final year in office, saying Americans aren’t more violent than other people but they “have more deadly weapons to act out their rage.”

In an interview published Tuesday in GQ magazine, Mr. Obama said easy access to guns is “the only variable” between the U.S. and other developed countries.

“The main thing that I’ve been trying to communicate over the last several of these horrific episodes is that, contrary to popular belief, Americans are not more violent than people in other developed countries,” Mr. Obama said. “But they have more deadly weapons to act out their rage.”

Actually, many groups within the American population have lower rates of violence than other people even though they have deadly weapons readily available to them. Unfortunately, there is a group of Americans among whom there are a disproportionate number of violent criminals. Its not the guns, its the criminals and gang members.

But that never stopped a liberal intent on disarming the public.

Understood. I did it because I’d sold it to my best friend who died a few years back. When I heard, I contacted her and told her about it and said I’d give her what he paid me for it because I didn’t want it “out there” and being a potential safety hazard.

I sent it back because it had a habit of dropping the mag when I shoot (my big hands and thumb I guess). Then they said we’ll replace it with a G2.....

All told, though, it was a DAO and this new G2 is supposed to be an SA/DA which is more pleasing to my taste.

Either way, I get a new pistol. But I will still tell her and give her the option of taking it back for what she paid me.
