Editorial: Inhuman fearmongering and very human refugees
nydailynews.com ^ | november 16, 2015

Dabbling cruelly in ethnic and religious prejudice, more than a dozen U.S. governors have declared they would close their states to Syrian refugees in the aftermath of the Paris attacks.

Most monstrously, New Jersey's Chris Christie announced that he would bar even "3-year-old orphans" from entering. Mounting desperation in his quest for the Republican presidential nomination has stripped Chistrie both of conscience and fealty to American values.

All too typically, Donald Trump joined the yahoo brigade by describing Syrian refugees as a Trojan horse, meaning that ISIS operatives bent on death and destruction would be among those admitted to the U.S.

-snip

While European nations have opened doors to vast numbers, President Obama has envisioned accepted a mere 10,000 after stringent screening. America has at least that moral obligation and should be able to fulfill it securely, not least because oceans separate the U.S. from abroad.

Perspective and decency are in order. First, ISIS plotters need not join refugees to travel from country to country. Second, a religious test for admitting refugees violates all that American stands for. And why stop there? Consistency would demand barring all Muslim immigration.

The ugliness is appalling.

100 years ago Christians made up 40% of the middle eastern population. Today its less than 5%.

These bleeding hearts should first put up one of these ‘refugees’ on their damn couches. If they don’t do that then they should STFU.

How many refugees have the editors of NY Daily News personally taken in? Surely they have room for some. Hypocrites!

So is the stupidity of this editorial.

They "think" with their hearts; not with their minds.

And when something goes wrong -- even dreadfully wrong -- they take comfort from "well, my intentions were good": The classic definition of a "fool".

Send them all to live in these editors neighborhoods in Manhattan.

Typical Leftist bigotry. Because YOU will not accept what we would never allow in our own neighborhoods, you are evil.

Too bad for the orphans, but the enemies of Western civilization have used our compassion and empathy, the likes of which have never been seen in human history, as a bludgeon to continually beat us with. We haven’t any more the luxury of allowing it, just as the ancient Jews discovered that they could no longer honor the Sabbath when under attack.

In an IDEAL world, where Puff the Magic Dragon lives, we would normally open our hearts but at this present moment in history a new world order must be enacted:

Close ALL Borders.
Investigate ALL Arab/Muslim immigrants. Sort them out.
Raid ALL Mosques because they are usually weapons depots.
PROFILE YOUNG Muslim men!
This may smack of unconstitutional and un-Democratic but these are TOUGH TIMES.
If we do not begin ADMITTING THE TRUTH (Mr. President) we will not survive.
Survival overtakes certain “rights”.

Send these refugees to a holding area FIRST, until some kind of comprehensive vetting process can take place, more than simply “No negative record - you’re OK, go on in”.

Observation of behavior and responses to inquiries should be part of the extensive review, which should include a health examination and routine frisking for concealed contraband.

Once these basic questions are answered, only then is the next part of the process carried out, inquiring as to whether entry into another country, with all its unknown customs and culture, is just exactly the path the applicant is willing to follow. No matter how war-torn and inhospitable the former place of residence has become, people everywhere have an inordinate attachment to the place from which they came, and a surprising number may be persuaded to return, if not to their original home, another locale nearby that they could adapt to readily.

Then the return to the place designated a “safe haven” with some assurances that it will be kept that way at least for the foreseeable future.

But actual admittance to the territory once known as “the United States of America” is definitely NOT the first option, or even any option, in the majority of cases.

Ah, yes. The shopworn “moral obligation” argument. As though morality is anything but a convenient bait for the marxist hook.

Pray tell, O great moral authority: how moral is it to betray the citizens of this country who have placed their safety and their lives in your hands? How moral is it to throw open our doors to a horde of barbarians, many of whom are NOT “refugees,” but well-fed terrorists who rejoiced at the slaughter in Paris and yearn to emulate it here?

Don’t talk to me about morality until you’re willing to be honest about who these people are and your motives for inviting them to spread their cancer.

Suddenly the moral spokesman goes mute.

Alinsky rule #4: "Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules." If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules. (This is a serious rule. The besieged entity's very credibility and reputation is at stake, because if activists catch it lying or not living up to its commitments, they can continue to chip away at the damage.)

Christie said “5 year old orphans” didn’t he? If they’re
gonna quote, they need to get it right. (I suppose next
it’ll be that he said “year old orphans”!)
