A society that regards women fighting as "entertainment' is headed down the tubes.

A culture that regards women fighting as entertainment is headed down the last circle of the toilet.

..........................................................

As far as the fight went, Rousey looked like someone brought in straight off the the street who did not have a clue what to do.

Rouseys million dollar trainers, with their ridiculous punching mitts, are completely incompetent.

In boxing a fighter with a normal stance has the left leg and the left arm forward. The forward left arm is used to jab and sometimes to hook, a heavier punch. But the straight right hand is the basic heavier punch for a normal stance fighter.

Everything is reversed for a southpaw fighter who has the right foot and right hand in front and uses the right hand to jab and whose heaviest punch is a straight left hand.

The first rule for a normal stance fighter fighting a southpaw, who has right foot and hand in front, is never throw a right hand to the body from long range, because you would be leaving your head wide open to your southpaw opponents heaviest punch, his straight left hand, which he is poised and waiting to throw.

Rouseys so-called trainers did not even tell her she was fighting a southpaw.

They did not even tell her to watch her opponents left hand.

Clueless Rousey stepped directly into her southpaw opponents heaviest punch, her straight left hand. repeatedly.

It was not a jab, but the heaviest punch her opponent could throw. It landed repeatedly on Rouseys mouth and chin.

If this million dollar crap had been a gym workout, any experienced trainer would have stopped it after one or two such punches and explained to Rousey what is involved in fighting a southpaw. And that she had a lot of work to do before she would be ready to take on an experienced southpaw.

Of course they would not have put her in the ring with an experienced southpaw to start with until they educated her on what was involved.

Not one blowhard commentator mentioned the above, which would be obvious at a glance to anyone competent in the subject.

Rousey was badly winded before the first round was over. Yet she trains?

Rousey was knocked out by a kick to the neck, not the head.

Rousey had just slipped down with her back to her opponent after getting hit on the chin with yet another straight left hand.

Her opponent put her hand on Rouseys lower back and turned her around, helping as Rousey straightened up and turned to face her.

The opponent put her right arm on Rouseys shoulder to hold her in place as she (the opponent) lifted her left leg high with the knee bent so that the heel of her foot was touching her own bottom. Then from that position she snapped her leg open from the knee, landing with her shin on the side of Rouseys neck. Rousey was knocked out and fell hard, with the side of her head bouncing hard off the canvas.

Rousey looked very bad once she was up minutes later, with her head hanging forward, her eyes at the floor and all the muscles of her face collapsed, drooping downward.

Experienced boxing people, there are none left, would call this a mismatch that should never have taken place.

Once again, a society that regards the repulsive spectacle of women fighting as entertaining is headed down the tubes.

..........................................................

PS In 1922 RING magazine founder Nat Fleischer wrote

As for women boxing, blows to the breast cause breast cancer. SUBJECT CLOSED.

Why are you pinging me? I never commented in that post nor am interested in boxing or any other sport these days.

Where do you draw the line as to what sports women can participate in?

I don't see anyone forbidding women from engaging in this "sport." All I've seen are a few folks condemning it as barbaric and degenerate.

Recently the Olympic committee tried to eliminate wrestling, of all things. It is one the original Olympic sports going back to the Greeks, along with boxing and weightlifting.

The Olympics, Summer and Winter, are evolving. So what?

Sports are now just another way to push the politically correct.

Sports are part of the entertainment business. Unless you put the fannies in the seats, you don't survive. What happens between the lines has more to do with skill and ability than politics. It is what makes sports attractive. The only exception is sports that require subjective judging.

Basketball is now freaks tattooed from head to foot giving gang signs

LOL. The skill levels of the players are far superior today than they were in the past.

Football now puts the defensive back in a straight jacket as far as what they are allowed to do in order to have the fans see more touchdowns.

As I said, sports are part of the entertainment business. You give the fans (customers) what they want.

ESPN gave its COURAGE award to Bruce Jenner for not knowing if he is a man or a woman.

I could care less what ESPN does in that regard. Just give me good programming. Don't watch the ESPY awards.

Sports Illustrated ran an article excoriating a football quarterback for saying he liked Donald Trump.

So what. SI is not the place I go to get opinions on politics and public policy. Don't buy the magazine if you don't like it.

Soros uses so called sports to promote the pc homosexuality, womens rights, belligerent blacks, hatred of whites, elimination of past history, drugs, drugs, drugs.

Soros? What are you smoking?

Women brutalizing each other fits right in.

These women are being paid well. If you don't like it, don't watch it. Who the Hell put you in charge of what people should watch or don't watch. You sound like a typical liberal.

We will agree to disagree. He had his flaws but he was a true patriot who put his life on the line for this country for many, many years. I respect that.

In MacArthur's time, football was considered barbaric. Proper martial "sports" were horsemanship, fencing, and marksmanship.

You are uniformed about "MacArthur's time." Army football began in 1890. MacArthur entered West Point on 13 June 1899. He played left field for the baseball team. President of the United States and General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower and General of the Army Omar Bradley were on the 1912 Army football team.

If football was considered so "barbaric" why did the academies play football nine years before MacArthur even entered West Point?

Post-modern culture has conflated "games" with "sports."

What is the point you are trying to make?

That’s OK. It’s just that my opinion of him changed after I had to do a paper on the “Bonus Army” incident.

...........................................................

That’s a favorite Soros/Obama word.

Yes, men are evolving into women.

Women are evolving into men.

Womens rights have evolved into the killing and vivisection of little babies.

The US has evolved into a pigsty of homosexuality, illegal aliens, Kill the Police, spit at and destroy the US military, alienate longtime US allies, embrace rabid enemies of the US, destroy the US economy,

and Demonize anyone who doesnt like it.

Teddy Roosevelt addressed public concerns about football with Ivy League presidents in 1905. There was widespread public opinion that college football was depraved reckless behavior like binge drinking is now.

Thank god our culture has progressed so much since then!

I’m not speaking for anyone. I’m just reporting what I’ve observed. Nobody is saying women fighting should be banned. They’re just accusing it of pandering to the lowest values in entertainment, and bespeaking a decline in our culture.

I never had much respect for Gen. MacArthur. Never will.

Never had much understanding of history -- or listened to the 100 greatest American Speeches, either -- right...?

Nonsense. The first game of American football is widely cited as a game played on November 6, 1869, between two college teams, Rutgers and Princeton. Ever hear of Walter Camp.

A 1905 peak of 19 fatalities nationwide resulted in a threat by President Theodore Roosevelt to abolish the game unless major changes were made.

Football was widely popular before Roosevelt became President. And it is the most popular sport in America today. The Left is trying to destroy American football. No doubt about that. Too violent. Young men need to be feminized and neutered.
