The latest attack ad targeting Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) in the Louisiana gubernatorial race claims that he chose "prostitutes over patriots."
The 30-second spot contrasts Vitter with opponent Louisiana state Rep. John Bel Edwards (D) on their commitment to the armed forces.
"The choice for governor couldn't be more clear: John Bel Edwards, who answered our country's call and served as a Ranger in the 82nd Airborne Division," the ad begins, "or David Vitter, who answered a prostitute's call minutes after he skipped a vote honoring 28 soldiers who gave their lives in defense of freedom."
"David Vitter chose prostitutes over patriots," it concludes. "Now the choice is yours."

Prostitutes over patriots ...well that sounds more like a Democrat platform to me.

Oddly, people in North Louisiana are not all that tired of Orleans and Jeffesrson snobbery when they count the shared sales tax, income tax, and property tax revenue that they receive from the New Orleans Area.
Maybe it is time to divide the state in two, with Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany and Plaquemines in one state called “Nola” and the rest of the state called “May as well be East Monroe.”

His policy positions are well left of Vitter.
What policy does he have that is rightwing? Everything he had to build up rightwing cred he did as a member of the minority party when it never mattered.
Maybe he’s a gay, transexual, enviro-Nazi, feminist sort of Ranger.
I’m a voter in Louisiana. The vote in question passed unanimously. Edwards vote wasn’t needed to pass it. Of course, there are moral questions here, but I think it is ridiculous to say he spit on soldiers when it was known the vote would pass. He didn’t vote against it.
It’s just what the Dems have to run with because all the dirty laundry has already been hung out to dry on Vitter. I make my voting decision on Vitter’s overall conservative record and there is no way in hell I’d vote for Edwards.

We need to understand that Vitter is being violated and our Vets are victimized, but not by Vitter who will be the victor.

Well the ad was first ran just last night, and AFAIK is the first negative ad the dem has ran against Vitter.

First off - Welcome to Free Republic!
I watched the ad during the haft time break of the LSU vs Alabama game last night. I don’t like what Vitter did. In fact, I voted for Angelle in the jungle primary because of this. But Vitter’s old personal failings are not bad enough to stop me from voting for him and against Edwards.
Help get out the Vote for Vitter.
Early voting started Saturday.
Edwards is an Obama liberal who is lying through his teeth on his position to get elected.
Put pressure on Angelle and Dardene supporters to come back home.
Dardene pulled a Benedict Arnold and went with the liberal!
If its true, that the choice is a Ranger vs a GOP lawyer who skipped a vote about 28 dead soldiers to go meet a hooker,,,, then as the ad said, the choice is clear.
