I’m a voter in Louisiana. The vote in question passed unanimously. Edwards vote wasn’t needed to pass it. Of course, there are moral questions here, but I think it is ridiculous to say he spit on soldiers when it was known the vote would pass. He didn’t vote against it.

It’s just what the Dems have to run with because all the dirty laundry has already been hung out to dry on Vitter. I make my voting decision on Vitter’s overall conservative record and there is no way in hell I’d vote for Edwards.

Well said. Although Vitter is by no means perfect, the alternative is a pretend conservative who strongly supported Obama and, even though he claims to be pro-life, opposed efforts to defund Planned Parenthood.

Conservatives who feel hesitant supporting Vitter should look at his record in the Senate. It’s much more conservative than many.
