'Shell-shocked' CNBC staffers had long flight home
CNN ^ | 10/30/15 | Brian Stelter

For the CNBC employees who boarded a charter plane right after Wednesday's bruising GOP debate, the redeye flight was physically smooth but emotionally turbulent.

People were exhausted, but also rattled and worried. "We were shell-shocked," one source said.

The poor reviews were piling up - declaring CNBC the biggest loser of the night - and the moderators Carl Quintanilla and Becky Quick knew more would be published by the time the flight landed in New York. So for some flyers, it was a sleepless night. But there was some laughter and some liquor to lighten the mood - and some speculation about how high the ratings would be.

At CNBC's sister news outlets MSNBC and NBC News, producers were advised not to "pile on" the moderator controversy, according to people there.

“But some of the same employees also said they were proud that the moderators had pointedly challenged the GOP candidates and potentially changed the course of the presidential race.”

They are elites. In their eyes, the fault is completely with us fly-over hayseeds.

Yes. The real issue in any newsworthy event is how the media people are affected. /S

"People Republicans who want to be President of the United States should be able to answer tough questions," CNBC spokesman Brian Steel said in an email.

Fixed it.

They crafted their strategy, their questions, thinking that after the debate they’d be rock stars, celebrated and cheered.

Don't kid yourself. They are being celebrated and cheered -- in all of the newsrooms and salons of the East Coast corridor.

Criticisms? Just right wing ranting.

Bad as the questions were, the worst part of the scandal is the contrast with how democrats are treated.

They are not ashamed about what they did. They are ashamed what they did didn’t work.

CNBC and the rest of the MSM have cuckolded the RNC, and the RNC likes it.

They didn’t ask “tough” questions, they offered loaded diatribes that they pretended were questions. The fact they think the “questions” they asked were “tough” or were even questions at all tells you how biased the media is.

Your critics call you a monster. What kind of monster do you think you are?

That’s not a legitimate tough question that’s a loaded piece of propaganda, working from a false assumption. It’s garbage.

And the opening question? Seriously? That’s the best you got is a profit a idiot interview question that anyone worth their salt cringes or laughs at if it is offered to them during an interview?

Rush said yesterday that the CNBC moderators are not the least bit upset, and are now “made men” in the Democrat party.
