He didn’t say 9/11 was Bush’s fault. Trump said it happened on his watch and that Bush shares some responsibility.
Inferring is not saying. You can infer what you wish. All he said was that 9/11 happened on GWB’s watch. People were not safe as Jeb said.
There is no reason to support GWB at this time. He was not conservative and not a stellar President.

Actually you are inferring it. Trump might have implied it, but I think he was just responding to Jeb's claim that "Bush kept us safe". I know Jeb meant "after 9/11" but he didn't say that. Factually Trump is correct, but in fairness I don't think any new president could have prevented it.
Speaking of keeping America safe and national security, your remember when Bush's Homeland Security boss Chertoff was found to have people who entered the country illegally wandering around his residence? During war time?☺

Many of us have been tired of hearing the "Bush kept us safe" meme since the day it started - because it's utter Orwellian BULLS***.
While Trump's statements may seem unfair in light of the damage done to our intelligence services during the Clinton years, GWB had access to intelligence briefs for 7 months prior to 9/11/01. And later, GWB had no problem cozying up to states known to finance terrorist organizations (i.e., Saudi Arabia, and the Dubai Ports deal come to mind).
So no, I don't think this will hurt Trump even a little bit.

Trump was responding to Jeb’s statement that his brother kept us “safe” during his presidency. Trump responded that was not true because 9-11 happened under his watch and that was definitely not safe for over 3000 people who died.
