No plot is needed, by inferring that 9/11 was George Bush’s fault, Trump is doing quite well bringing himself down.

Yeah, and Trump's numbers and increasing support show it.

Get a clue, what Trump said was accurate, he said that 9/11 happened 'on Bush's watch' and that IS the truth.

The fact is, there were plenty of warning signs that got ignored by both the outgoing Clinton administration -and- the incoming GWB administration, and then there is that little mystery about why GWB went out of his way to make sure that his Saudi friends in the country were all flown out ASAP while other private air traffic was grounded in the days following 9/11.

>If he keeps providing his opponents with the ammunition they need to bring him down, with statements like this, he won’t continue with such stellar numbers.

I had been warming to Trump somewhat, myself a Cruz supporter, but with such inane, and unnecessary, statements like he just made, I find it very hard to vote for him even he gets the nomination.

I like Trump’s outspokenness, but making statements like this is beyond the pale. We’ll have somebody in office making similar idiotic and stupid statements all the time.

Even if he gets the nomination, I won’t be voting for somebody this stupid.

During the 2000 campaign candidate GW Bush argued that the Clinton administration was having airport screeners profile Arabs and Muslins for extra scrutiny. And if elected he would put an end to it.

So Dubya did, with the result that airport personnel who were suspicious of Mohammed Atta and his friends didn’t act on those suspicions.

“On Oct. 11, 2000, during the second presidential debate, the Republican candidate attacked two anti-terrorist policies that had long irritated Arab citizens of the U.S... Bush said during the nationally televised debate, “Arab-Americans are racially profiled in what’s called secret evidence. People are stopped, and we got to do something about that.”

“Then-Governor Bush went on, “My friend, Sen. Spence Abraham [the Arab-American Republic Senator from Michigan], is pushing a law to make sure that, you know, Arab-Americans are treated with respect. So racial profiling isn’t just an issue at the local police forces. It’s an issue throughout our society. And as we become a diverse society, we’re going to have to deal with it more and more.”
