The plot against Donald Trump
New York Post ^ | 10/17/2015 | Michael Walsh

Posted on 10/17/2015 1:11:42 PM PDT by E. Pluribus Unum

Back in the days of Richard Nixon and Watergate, Donald Segretti had a word for it.

Unfortunately, I can’t use that word in a family newspaper, but suffice it to say it had something to do with rats and everything to do with a vulgarism for political dirty tricks: using plants and double-agents in order to embarrass a candidate and boost their own man’s chances.

Last week it was GOP front-runner Donald Trump’s turn to get, well, ratfreaked.

A young woman at a campaign event in New Hampshire — self-righteous, hands on hips, a-quiver with indignation — popped up to declare, “I don’t think you’re a friend to women.” (“I knew I shouldn’t have picked her,” Trump immediately joked.)

Oops. Turns out that the woman, identified as Lauren Batchelder, 18, is a college volunteer for the fading candidacy of Jeb Bush.

That’s an example of New York Jewish humor: self-deprecating. You don’t have to be Jewish to love Levy’s rye bread!

No, Trump responded to a comment about Bush keeping us safe after 911.

Speaking of keeping America safe and national security, your remember when Bush's Homeland Security boss Chertoff was found to have people who entered the country illegally wandering around his residence? During war time?☺

How ya like that safety and national security?

How about when Bush celebrated Cinco De Mayo up in the White House every year while flooding the country with tens of millions of illegals from who knows where, during war time?

Or allowing in more Muslims AFTER 911 than the previous two decades prior to 911.

How is this keeping America safe?

Trump is doing quite well bringing himself down.

Yep, eventually the way he keeps stepping on his foreskin will catch up to him. He's already beyond tiresome in my book.

No plot is needed, by inferring that 9/11 was George Bush’s fault...

He didn't infer anything. What he stated was that 911 happened on GWB's watch, which it did.

Many of us have been tired of hearing the "Bush kept us safe" meme since the day it started - because it's utter Orwellian BULLS***.

Some of you folks seem as detached as the professional political con-men in DC. Corrupt government business as usual will hopefully be changing. You should plan for it if you happen to be one of the millions of bureaucrats bankrolled by taxes.

It’s not what you and I think Trump meant by it, it is what the masses out there think he meant. And what his opponents on the left and right are going to say he meant by it.

That is the interpretation that is going to get publicized far and wide. He’ll be painted as too politically stupid to be in office. His opponents will be getting all the mileage they can out of it.

Trump was just plain stupid to make such a gaff. Even if he didn’t mean for it to be construed like it has, didn’t he know how it would be taken?

"No plot is needed, by inferring that 9/11 was George Bush’s fault, Trump is doing quite well bringing himself down."

While Trump's statements may seem unfair in light of the damage done to our intelligence services during the Clinton years, GWB had access to intelligence briefs for 7 months prior to 9/11/01. And later, GWB had no problem cozying up to states known to finance terrorist organizations (i.e., Saudi Arabia, and the Dubai Ports deal come to mind).

So no, I don't think this will hurt Trump even a little bit.

He never ever ever said 9-11 was Bush’s Fault. That is mindless spin.

Trump was responding to Jeb’s statement that his brother kept us “safe” during his presidency. Trump responded that was not true because 9-11 happened under his watch and that was definitely not safe for over 3000 people who died.

That is what he said. Never did he say 9-11 was Bush’s fault.

I don’t know that what you just posted has to do with the fact that Trump is more and more acting out like a childish prick.

During the 2000 campaign candidate GW Bush argued that the Clinton administration was having airport screeners profile Arabs and Muslins for extra scrutiny. And if elected he would put an end to it.

So Dubya did, with the result that airport personnel who were suspicious of Mohammed Atta and his friends didn’t act on those suspicions.

“On Oct. 11, 2000, during the second presidential debate, the Republican candidate attacked two anti-terrorist policies that had long irritated Arab citizens of the U.S... Bush said during the nationally televised debate, “Arab-Americans are racially profiled in what’s called secret evidence. People are stopped, and we got to do something about that.”

“Then-Governor Bush went on, “My friend, Sen. Spence Abraham [the Arab-American Republic Senator from Michigan], is pushing a law to make sure that, you know, Arab-Americans are treated with respect. So racial profiling isn’t just an issue at the local police forces. It’s an issue throughout our society. And as we become a diverse society, we’re going to have to deal with it more and more.”

Bush withheld from the public 28 pages from the 9/11 report.

http://www.ibtimes.com/911-link-saudi-arabia-topic-28-redacted-pages-government-report-congressmen-push-release-1501202

The government appeared to have plenty of clues in the run up to 9/11. If those terrorists came up on radar screens, the United States should have deported them on national security grounds.

http://www.cnn.com/2013/12/30/opinion/bergen-nsa-surveillance-september-11/

“Here is a representative sampling of the CIA threat reporting that was distributed to Bush administration officials during the spring and summer of 2001:

— CIA, “Bin Ladin Planning Multiple Operations,” April 20
— CIA, “Bin Ladin Attacks May Be Imminent,” June 23
— CIA, “Planning for Bin Ladin Attacks Continues, Despite Delays,” July 2
— CIA, “Threat of Impending al Qaeda Attack to Continue Indefinitely,” August 3

The failure to respond adequately to these warnings was a policy failure by the Bush administration, not an intelligence failure by the U.S. intelligence community.

It’s not what you and I think Trump meant by it, it is what the masses out there think he meant.

Ya mean the majority of the enthusiastic masses fired up who are overwhelmingly supporting Trump? Or are you referring to the "masses" supporting Bush?☺

No offense, but you seem very disconnected from reality.

So politically correct, radical feminists volunteer for Team Jeb and the GOPe.

And in return, Team Jeb and the GOPe welcome the politically correct and radical feminists.
