Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders said Saturday that he supports the U.S.'s continued arming and funding of so-called moderate rebels fighting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad but contrasted himself with front-runner Hillary Clinton by opposing the establishment of a unilateral American no-fly zone in the country.

No-fly zones have also been proposed recently by Republican presidential candidates Carly Fiorina, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Even Bernie Sanders? I just don’t get it that 100% of our and everyone else’s resources aren’t being used to destroy ISIS. When that’s accomplished, let the world powers sort it out.

Uh oh, this isn’t going to sit well with his boot lickers. But you won’t hear any of them calling him a war monger.

Better yet, when that is accomplished, pack up and go home. If the Israelis are feeling nervous, expand their line of credit.

The way I see it, Assad is not a very nice guy, but he’s a thug who is more interested in maintaining his own way of life than perpetuating Islamism in the region; very much like Gadaffi in Libya. If you’ve got to fight someone, it had better be the Islamists; otherwise you end up destabilizing the entire area and perpetuating the misery that’s occurring there. But then, that’s what Obama wants.

As long as none of Bernie’s supporters won’t be drafted, they will be fine with his position.

Just so nothing interferes with their free education, health care and EBT cards.

There are no moderate rebels.
Anyone who believes that should not be making decisions.

I hate to say it, but a no-fly zone is a stupid idea. How are we going to establish a no-fly zone against the Russians? Right now we are at worst shooting at each other's proxies. Mostly our proxies shooting at their proxies. A no-fly zone ends up with us shooting at each other. The obvious issue is that we don't want to get in a shooting war with the Russians. Russia needs Syria a lot more than we do.

The problem Obama, Kerry and all the other idiots have is they think they can negotiate with the Russians. It is time to push back strategically. We need to start talks with NATO partners regarding the opening of LNG shipping to Europe. Even if we don't mean to do it, the Russians will get the message.

Exactamundo. The no fly zone in Syria idea has left the barn due to the kenyan’s dithering. Time to counter punch one party state fascist Russia where it hurts: closer to home.

Nobody believes the BIG lie. There are no moderate Syrian rebels. The “moderates” were ISIS and allied groups posing as moderates to get US equipment to sell or give to ISIS. This was the “wink, wink, nod, nod” terrorist network that traitors at State dept. (Hitlery) and McLame have built up and supported.
All the U.S. and its allies have done for the past 2 1/2 years is fake bombing raids with no payloads or bombs in the desert.

You’re spot on.

Also what gives us the moral right to intervene in another countries civil war?

If their going to help anyone, they should help the Christians and other minorities.

Has nobody learned the lesson of Iraq?
Taking out brutal dictators is a good thing, BUT you d@mn well better have plans & people ready to roll in a new strong government, prepared for the onslaught of challengers & opportunists.
Too many people are well intentioned but have no idea how to finish the job and maintain the results.

Sure, Bernie. America will follow you to war. We’ve got your back just like you and Kerry had our backs in Vietnam.

Jane Fonda will be Bernie’s SecDef.

We should reinstitute the draft, but this time instead of giving University Students a deferment, they should be first on the list. Start with Ivy League University Students and then work the way down to Community Colleges.

Then send these people wherever someone like a President Sanders or a President Fiorina might want to send them. Give them an education on nation building in Muslim hell holes.

Whatever it takes to bring Joe Biden into the race... Bernie can't bring up gun confiscation, because he's opposed that throughout his career (for gun control, read gun confiscation), so he's a little soft on that; he's taking the middle ground on Syria -- one end is, interdiction of Russian bombing missions against non-ISIS targets (which is all or most of the targets that Russia's attacked so far) and on the other end Trump sez, their problem, not worth starting WW3 over it.

You may have noticed the crickets from the Paultards about Trump's position?
