Since Pope John Paul I was murdered after 33 days in office because he was going to remove all the Marxist homomafia who had total control of the Vatican Bank, it is a WONDER that Pope John Paul II lived and was pope for the longest reign ever. Why, when he never cleaned out the corruption in the Vatican Bank?-—He allowed the homomafia to do their thing for DECADES.
I actually think that Pope Ratzinger was going to try to get back to the true Catholic Canon——but I could be wrong.

Doesn’t seem to me that their religion has anything to do with anything. There are conservative Catholics, and liberal scum Catholics.
There are a lot of good Catholics who sincerely believe Pope Francis “shines with the light of God”. These are not uneducated or low IQ people. They will not entertain any thought that is negative to Pope Francis or the Catholic Church, and in fact, will go to great lengths to be sure doubters are pointed out and shamed.
There doesn’t seem to be any middle ground.
Do the vast majority of Catholics misunderstand the limitations? Are they so indoctrinated into reverence for the Pope they can’t see beyond that? Or could it be the position you (and others) are taking is exaggerated?
Serious questions. I’m deeply troubled by the varied reactions.
Most of the Catholics I saw commentating this week praised aspects of the Pope’s program. I wouldn’t want that attitude infecting Scalia, Roberts, Alito or Thomas.
He also caused the current and reprehensible Archbishop of Chicago Blase Cupich to be consecrated a Bishop for Rapid City Diocese in South Dakota. Now that he has Chicago courtesy of Pope Francis, he is a slam dunk to become a cardinal at the next consistory. He is 66 and has nine years to go before he must resign and get out of our hair. I refer you to the Wikipedia article on him for the truly reprehensible facts of his awful career. He is an embarrassment to genuine Catholics everywhere. Another termite to get a red hat.
The termites think that if Francis just lasts long enough, they can get rid of all those silly moral rules, have no discipline of heretics in the hierarchy and priesthood, and somehow those inferior nearly subhuman reactionary Catholics like me will just see the error of our ways and become modernist heretics like the folks mentioned in the article. After all, the heretics are sooooo nice and soooo inclusive and sooooo welcoming to sinners galore (the kind who have no intention of ever repenting or changing).
The heretical Church "leaders" like Daneels, Madariaga, Kaspar, Marx, Silvestrini (now 92 years old) and their pals intend to change the teachings of the Church to an utterly leftist set of teachings. They will not succeed. Jesus Christ promised that they won't succeed. They are the gates of hell that will not prevail against the Church.
We need good men like xzins to join us and fight against the zeitgeist even if it means being a member of the laity.

how can one stay Catholic under all of this?...I’m struggling...haven’t been a regular church goer for several years but I yearn to be....but I just can’t support this stuff....
Because of his mannerisms and very softly spoken speech Pope Francis appears to me to be simple minded. Very much like the Peter Sellers character, Chance, from the movie “Being There”. Libs always apply that character to any and every republican however I feel that my observation in this case has merit. Has anyone had this same feeling?

Not only a "doctrine of man," it's a doctrine of the man whom you see in the mirror. There's no claim in Catholic doctrine that the Pope is "divinely appointed".
I am no fan of Francis but he met with victims of priest/abusers in Philadelphia and expressed himself extensively on the subject. More likely he is avoiding ACTION on the matter because so many of the abusers are homosexual pedophiles and therefore likely to be his “progressive” supporters. They are the termites in the wooden structures of Holy Mother the Church. Benedict is a very old and frail man, He may just have lacked the stamina to fight the termites. If you understand his career and his quality, he has no fear and no reason to fear consequences. revulsion or the legal mess. He is older than was Thurgood Marshall when he resigned from SCOTUS telling reporters that he was old and tired and wanted the chance to rest.
So, what is the excuse you are proffering?
No, Benedict XVI would not resume his papacy. He is retired now and until he dies. When Francis dies, there will be another conclave and I bet they won’t repeat the mistake made by the conclave that elected. We need a young, healthy, rigorously orthodox pope who has the backbone to purge the bad guys.
