Whoopsie – Federal Elections Commission Opens Inquiry…(Cruz/Carly PACs)
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | September 25, 2015 | sundance

Posted on 09/25/2015 8:44:40 PM PDT by Jane Long

The FEC has opened an inquiry (see pdf below) into Ted Cruz Super-PAC (KtP) and Carly Fiorina Super-PAC (CfA). I’ll just drop this here as a reminder to what we previously said was going to happen; when you know the “splitters” you know the most likely scenario...

....Keep The Promise (KtP) Super-PAC is a pro-Ted Cruz PAC run by David Barton. David Barton is also Chairman of Mercury One Charities (Glenn Beck)...

...Carly For America (CfA) Super – PAC is a pro-Carly Fiorina PAC.

The FEC is asking why would Keep The Promise (Ted Cruz PAC) be giving money to Carly For America (Carly Fiorina PAC)?

Move them around like men on chess board it seems.

Btw, interesting is the understatement of the day. I find it fascinating. Reeks like a pile, but fascinating.

From their site:

“Keep the Promise PAC will educate voters on Senator Cruz’s record as Texas Senator and promote his vision for the future of America and will independently advocate on his behalf. Thank you for your support.”

I imagine they can use the “promote his vision” as an excuse. Well, Carly has his same “vision” with regard to x, y and z.....”

Why don’t people just click on Cruz’s website and donate directly to him!? (Reminder to do that this weekend to give his September numbers a bump.)

Yes, but Cruz did not write the article ... nor is the PAC “his”. This particular PAC appears to have been set up by someone who claimed it was for the support of Ted Cruz...but then turned around and gave a large amount of money to a PAC that supports Carly Fiorina.

There are all kinds of PAC that are set up to support one thing or another yet give minimal support to what they state they are supporting. Usually this type of PAC exists solely to raise money for salaries for the PAC’s “employees”. This particular PAC apparently (and I’m guessing here) used Ted Cruz’ name to raise funds but then turned around and used those funds for Carly Fiorina.

You seem to be having difficulty understanding the basic truth that Ted Cruz has nothing to do with this PAC and is, in fact, prohibited by law from being involved with it. So yes, the PAC is NOT “Cruz’s PAC”.

That was established way back. I would guess there are other big issues here. And it seems this story might be legitimate. If so, in my mind, this brings to the table lots of serious questions.

What was Cruz's comment about this?

And the motive was to funnel illegal secret funds to Fiorina? I'm not sure I follow.

“Trump isn’t financially-beholden to anyone”

His campaign appears to be primarily self funded with the exception of the small donations he does accept.

However, his business empire is highly leveraged. His real estate and construction deals require billions of other people’s money so to keep his company growing he must raise money from the same banks, investment companies, and billionaire private investors his political opponents depend on for campaign cash. In addition his deals require the support of local and state politicians who control the regulatory process (permits, licenses, zoning) as well as development incentives (tax abatements, new public roads). Trump’s businesses also rely heavily on union support in many metro areas.

Don’t be under any illusion the sugar daddies who finance political campaigns are unable to influence Trump. They may be standing back watching the show now but they can cut off the flow of borrowed capital to his business ventures at any time. Without access to borrowed capital, trump cannot refinance loans or put together new deals. Trump knows this and they know this.

While I like much of what Trump says I’m fully aware of his very real vulnerability to those who pull the levers of power through control of money. What is their ultimate game and how does Trump fit in? If Trump is truly acting independently today, what will he do if he pushes too far and the money changers stop loaning his businesses money? What will he do if the bureaucrats and politicians controlled by the sugar daddies start using the regulatory process to affect the day to day operations of his companies?

Nothing in today’s world is what it seems on the surface. Like all political figures, Trump is a pawn on a global chessboard and the power brokers who really control the game are invisible to us little people. If you don’t believe it, consider how two implausible figures (Bill Clinton and Barack Obama) came from nowhere to rise quickly to the Oval Office. Not only did they have access to virtually unlimited funds, every potential roadblock on their way was smoothed by a compliant press and supposed political opponents. Where does Trump fit on this landscape and who is pulling his strings?

I’m afraid we are going to find out we’ve been played for saps by big money globalists, and when “Citizens United” turned on the Super Pac super money, we little donors became window dressing.

GOPe needs our votes, but not our money. They came up with a divide the vote strategy to elect their puppet, Jeb. Super Pacs keep ridiculous losers like Lindsey Graham going to help Jeb.

Along comes Trump, who starts pointing out that the GOPe emperor has no clothes unless Wall Street buys them. The divide the conservative vote with phony “conservative” candidates strategy no longer works because the petulant, angry peasants start following Trump and ignoring Jeb the chosen one AND his false flag distraction supporting cast.

Because Trump is upsetting the apple cart and people are starting to catch on to the big GOPe con game, the only goal now is to stop Trump.

Why else would a political party spend so much time, effort and treasure to topple their own front runner? Hell, if they were an honest racket they’d say “Trump, you are catching fire and you’ll pay your own way? Great, we’ll spend all this Super Pac loot on Congressional and Senate races, that way we’ll bury the Dems!”

It’s just like Mr. Smith goes to Washington, except the Jimmy Stewart role is being played by a rich, brash, abrasive blowhard with no illusions to lose about the corrupt system he’s taking on. Maybe he loves the country and wants to make America pre-Oligarchy again, or maybe it’s just a big ego trip by a guy who wants to take down the biggest con artists of all time so he can be King Con.

What’s the Chinese curse? “May you live in interesting times”.

I can’t believe all the crap that’s actually getting exposed in a big way.

I have been hoping for years that the corruption would boil up to the surface for all to see.

If that’s the only thing at all that Trump accomplishes then he has done America a tremendous service.

If he wasn’t in this thing it would be business as usual again and that’s bad for America.

Maybe Carly was real short of money and th r pro-Cruz PAC wanted to give her a reason to endorse Ted when she eventually drops out
That must be it. But of course she's not supposed to know tell what the money is really for...And Cruz won't know that money donated on his behalf will be going to pay off Carly...You know, because he's pure as the driven snow and a "conservative constitutionalist" too...WINK-WINK.

“PACS and candidates are not allowed to communicate.”

However the billionaires and millionaires giving the money to various PACs meet and talk every day. Orchestration of giving by independent actors prior to checks being written is not illegal. I bet there are some fascinating political conversations on golf courses and at private parties in the Hamptons. Not to mention those annual private global conferences of movers and shakers that always seem to be held out of the country in places like Davos Switzerland.

It is naive to assume the billions of dollars flowing to politicians is not being controlled and coordinated. To believe there is no communication regarding how PAC money is spent is the same as believing John Boehner woke up one morning with a sudden desire to retire as Speaker.

He has nothing to do with the PAC.
HORSESHIT!
The campaign has to know how much money they need to spend, how much is available, where and who it's going to come from and how they're going to get it.

Oh, and the givers, AKA Politica Action Committees are just doing it because they love Ted and Heidi so much and will never ask for anything in return.< /sarcasm>

The blind ignorance, lies and deceit disguised as devotion is sickening.

Trump admitted long ago he played that game but as a private citizen and he no longer plays that game. Back to this story, there are some serious legitimate questions here regarding the professionals in DC who are on the tax funded payrolls and continue to be heavily associated with PACs. To the point where these political insider organizations apparently are totally manipulating those who are affiliated these corrupt lobbyist laced insider PACs.

Begs the question, if this occurred in July, did Cruz not know this pro-Cruz PAC was funneling $500,000 into Fiorina's campaign for motives which have yet to be revealed?

This does not compute. No bueno.

>> There is a law against the candidates coordinating with the PACs. If Ted did know about it in advance, that would be an issue. <<

Only if the candidate doing the coordinating isn’t part of the Bush-Clinton-Bush-Obama-Bush hegemony. Jeb’s campaign and his PACs have been run by the very same people.

Gee, I’m glad the FEC is jumping right on this. Similarly, I’m glad the NSA/FBI/HSA/CIA is all over HIllary’s classified comm leaks, and the IRS is all over the bogus tax exempt status of various leftist organizations. /s

Oh my.

I find it hard to believe Cruz was intentionally doing something off-color. Seriously. The guy is too smart to become involved in something like that.

What this does cause me to wonder, is what exactly is going on, and why now? Have they finally realized Trump is for real, and there’s no need to hold off an play gotcha with Cruz later?

Is this how they expected to take Cruz down so Bush could win? Did they plant someone in a PAC to do something that would reflect negatively on him?

Yes, scratching my head, and looking forward to some decent answers. I’m behind Ted here 100%.

Those of you who thought Cruz was the go-to guy, if this does hurt Ted, this is exactly why I said we can’t count on normal Conservatives. The GOPe/Big D.C. Machine will find a way. They always do.

Makes you wonder what they have on Trump.

Perhaps they’ve already spent that ammo. Let’s hope.

Good luck Ted, seriously. Put this to bed and move on.
