Good Lord Mr. Goldberg, if you haven’t figured it out by now you obviously haven’t been listening to the base of the GOP and obviously never will. Have fun languishing in your anguish.

Goldberg is like almost 100% of the career politicians in Washington, if you read his history he really has never done anything of any substance. Like a tenured professor he sits on the sidelines and — talks. He is someone who has never run a company that produced anything but words. In that regard he has been an editor who worked for others, he never started a thing from scratch. He stands on sand and acts as if it is granite. Personally, I don’t give a damn what he thinks about anything because I do not see him as smarter than the average poster on Free Republic when it comes to politics. I have just read numerous things about him and I wonder how far and how fast he would have gone without his mother being in the media business.

Trump, on the other hand, took a small company and made it huge. Trump, in doing one deal and building one building, even a small place like New Jersey years ago has accomplished more than Goldberg has or will. It is about time people see the difference between people like Goldberg that just spew words for a living and someone who actually does something of value.

The FIRST thing a conservative does is support and represent the United States of American.

ONLY Trump is doing that. Everyone else wants foreign workers, illegal alien amnesty, and for the US to lose in international trade negotiations.

But Trump has no core principles and his supporters here will be doing one helluva lot of rationalizing and defending should he win.

They already are. The irony is that the same thing happens when a GOPe candidate is nominated. The can kicking "republican" pragmatists come out to play rationale roulette.

Amen to that. The first two responses were just empty, emotional clap trap.

“Oh yeah???? Well Jeb Bush!” and “Goldberg supports losers and we support winners.”

I mean, nobody is a certified know it all genius. I mean, I’m still waiting for my certification to come in the mail and then that will change. =P

And not every post is going to be a winner. But can we PLEASE get off the easy “oh yeah, sez you” responses?

There’s a reason why some of us non Trumpers shake our head at this whole thing- and part of it is either what following Trump is turning people into- just mind numbed robots in some cases.

“Lord Acton’s original point wasn’t that power corrupts those who wield power, it was that it corrupts those who admire it.”

When you read the excerpt from the letter, it is plain that Lord Acton was talking about what power does to THOSE WHO WIELD IT . But Goldberg has to throw in the nonsense about power CORRUPTING THOSE WHO ADMIRE IT to establish an argument for diminishing people who like Trump. According to him, people like Trump for all the wrong reasons. Goldberg never mentions Trump’s stance on immigration, which is what initially fueled his ascendancy. Then there are other issues Goldberg never mentions.

Comparing Trump to a cat who pisses in a commode is deviancy on parade. Something has corroded Goldberg’s mental faculties. He has gone over to the dark side. It would NEVER occur to most of us to use that kind of language about another human being.

“I think Trump did insinuate that Megyn Kelly was menstruating during the debate.”

I just noticed that. Yep, the man is deviant. If he can compare Trump to ...I’ll never regard anything else this ghoul writes. He has beclowned and beshit himself.

“If you want a really good sense of the damage Donald Trump is doing to conservatism, consider the fact that for the last five years no issue has united the Right more than opposition to Obamacare. Opposition to socialized medicine in general has been a core tenet of American conservatism from Day One. Yet, when Republicans were told that Donald Trump favors single-payer health care, support for single-payer health care jumped from 16 percent to 44 percent.”

SICK! I remember right here the Romney hate because of his Massachusetts single payor even after he renounced it on the Federal level. But when Trump says it and doesn’t renounce, that’s fine.

Trump is another cult of personality like 0. Now all America wants is reality TV politics.

Does that kind of tripe really comfort you? I like Trump for the positions he takes on issues of the day, primarily immigration, because that is/will destroy the nation, and quickly. I do enjoy his “in-your-face” go-to-hell disregard of political correctness. By the way, he has pledged to repeal and replace Obamacare with traditional market programs.

Jonah doesn't GET it.

Were it not for Trump, a Ted Cruz or Scott Walker wouldn't have a PRAYER against Yeb Bush and the rigged system anyway. The GOPe would be playing us for patsies yet again, saying as they alway do 'where else ya gonna go'. Since the establishment folks have been emasculated its a whole new ballgame - if Trump leaves now all bets are off and there is a chance a Ted Cruz or a Ben Carson can move in.

And if Trump stays in and wins, he still obliterates the GOPe and possibly the DNC as well.

How he will govern is a crapshoot. That is, aside from his pronouncements on illegal immigration, which sound pretty damn good.

How is he convincing? History teaches that many come to Washington talking a good game. But few withstand the pressure to conform.

Trump hasn’t been tested. Cruz has been and stood the test. Walker also was tested and stood the test in Wisconsin.

“Cruz has been and stood the test.”

The damage Cruz did to this country w/ the TPA is far worse than anything DT has done.

Jonah is in denial that conservatives have ananswer to the quadrennial question: “Where ELSE can you go?”

An awful lot of establishment types have now stood up and blown their camouflage, some of them apparently deciding that Heb! or Rubio (or possibly Carly, assuming Kasich can't fool enough of the Casper Milquetoasts) is the hill they want to politically die on. All because Donald Trump isn't conservative.

Hmmm...

McConnell, Boehner, Hatch, McCain, Graham (and so on… the list is alarmingly long) have proven by their actual records to be anything but conservative, but Donald Trump is somehow worse? Where the hell was Jonah's indignation about those duplicitous, back-stabbing, Obama-enabling USCC whores? I'm not talking about the occasional crumbs tossed to us flyover types at intervals designed to keep us on the plantation, but the sustained, week-after-week Trump-hatred that he, George Will, Fox news, etc have delivered ad nauseam. Where has it been? Huh?? WHERE???

All these precious pictures of offended dignity sputtering on and on about the slivers in Donald Trump's eye when they and their GOP-e friends are all walking about with freakin' fenceposts sticking so far out of both sockets that they can't get their cocktail glasses up to their lips.

Hypocrites.

The only thing that comes to mind anymore with these losers is the famous Reagan saying: “There you [they] go again.” Its getting awfully old as they keep pulling this straw out of the hat. If the Cartel owns you “Conservative” doesn’t mean a damn thing.

"A small example of what I am talking about can be found in Ted Cruz’s vow not to criticize other Republicans — if by “Republicans” you mean “Donald Trump.” I have a lot of respect for Cruz, but this doesn’t pass the laugh test."

What Goldberg doesn't understand is that Cruz is refusing to criticize other Republicans WHEN THE LIBERAL MEDIA DEMAND IT. Cruz will criticize other Republicans ON HIS OWN TERMS, not those of the media.

National Review, like the others, are at wit’s end because they can’t bring Trump’s poll numbers down. No one listens to them.
