Matt Bevin Responds to Kim Davis Arrest

Today, Matt Bevin responded to the arrest of Kentucky County Clerk Kim Davis.

“It is utterly unnecessary that Rowan County clerk, Kim Davis, is sitting in a jail cell, when there is a simple solution that would respect the rights of every Kentuckian. I first put this solution forward many weeks ago. Why the cowardly silence from our Attorney General, Jack Conway? Jack Conway violated his oath of office as Attorney General when he refused to defend our state in court. Where was our Governor then demanding his resignation? The double standard applied in this case is reprehensible. Jack Conway refused to defend our state constitution and now he is refusing to stand up for the religious liberties of our county clerks. This is unconscionable and, as Governor, I will stand up for all Kentuckians, not just the ones who agree with me," said Matt Bevin.

Matt Bevin’s plan, proposed on July 10, would allow for compliance with the law, and allow Kentucky clerks to exercise their first amendment rights.

“.........Jack Conway violated his oath of office as Attorney General when he refused to defend our state in court....”

Standard practice for Democrats. Look at California. Democrats have run the State of California for years in favor of Democrats. Environmentalists are a huge membership of the Democrat Party that sue California regularly on environmental issues, and the Democrats always capitulate in favor of the massive amounts of money they gain for the party by NOT defending the State they are in charge of.

She’s being held in contempt of a Federal Court, nothing the Governor can do about that.

Hardly. Trump is not going to engage on social issues during the campaign. It’s all pointless gum flapping during a campaign anyway. It’s not like he’s voting for TPA or anything like that.

Shouldn’t it be up to voters to recall Ms. Davis if they don’t approve of her actions? The feds shouldn’t be allowed to intervene at all.

I don’t think that’s what he’s doing, I think he honestly just doesn’t give a damn cause he’s no real social conservative.

That's correct.

He's a RINO who's talking good on 1 paramount issue. Methinks it's foolish to pin our hopes on him, I think he'd most likely be a lousy President. People are excusing positions he's taken that they would tar and feather other people for having

Kasich: "Give a homo a hug!"

Trumpeters: "Die RINO scumbag!!!"

Trump: "Accept the court's decision".

Trumpeters: "Meh, this isn't important, illegals illegals illegals".

Romney: "I stand by the awesomeness of Romney care!"

Trumpeters: "GOPE SWINE!!! BURN IN HELL"

Trump: "I'm liberal on this, I like single payer."

Trumpeters: "Hmm maybe that's a good idea." or "He changed his mind, I believe him cause he says so, he's a real estate mogul and therefore very trustworthy compared to a nasty dirty politician."

The Trump backers have to know they need to start supporting the Republican Party Congressional candidates at some point, but they hate the GOP so much that I can see them giving us Trump and his buddy Pelosi running the House.
