There’s Only One Candidate People Actually Like – and It’s Not Trump or Clinton (it's Ben Carson)
The Fiscal Times ^ | September 3, 2015 | Rob Garver

The only one of the declared presidential candidates that Americans have positive feelings for overall isn’t a frontrunner and has never held public office before. According to a poll released Thursday by Public Policy Polling, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson is the sole presidential candidate whose favorability rating is higher than his or her unfavorability rating.

When asked about Carson, 41 percent of the respondents in the national poll reported that they felt favorably about him, compared to 30 percent who have an unfavorable view. That puts him well ahead of all the other candidates in the field, though 29 percent of respondents said they were not familiar enough with Carson to make a judgment about him, suggesting that those numbers could change as he becomes more widely known. The only other candidate to come close to an overall favorable rating was former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina, who at 32/35 had an overall favorability rating of -3.

That’s all good but since I probably will never have a cheeseburger with the president, it’s most important that he get the job done.

“People actually like”? Based on what, exactly, because Trump has higher poll numbers than Carson. Seems people like Trump.

I like the Pee Wee Herman but does that mean he’d be a good president?

I am for Crux but Mrs. Dog loves Ben Carson, thinks he walks on water and has sent him some ducats.

I totally disagree! Why are we considering someone with ZERO Executive experience? Just because they are black?

Horse crap!

He is pro illegal alien criminal scum and gun control.

Both deal breakers especially from a flip flopper like him.

Carson may or may not be a "good guy", but he has absolutely NO business running for president!

being a brain surgeon won't help Ben facing down Putin...unless he is going to do an operation on him.

Nice guy , but NOT qualified to be commander and chief of our Armed Forces .Neither Trump , or any other present candidate for that matter . They rarely ever are . And this is why America is in such a pickle with our foreign policies and military affairs abroad . The inept clueless civilians ALWAYS f it up . America need to re-configure into a 2 tier system of governance and leadership; A domestic affairs civilian leadership , with some portfolio in economic foreign affairs , and a War Department military foreign affairs , in which THEY have the final say and cannot be overruled by civilian lawyers or any of that CIV BS . Trump would make a fine leader for that role ; Civilian leadership . Now , select a War Department leader and clear the decks . We have a war against radical islamists abroad to win and radical Leftists at home to deal with . The sooner we get to it the better . Enough of this single , clueless, inept, civilian (lawyer) demagogue song & dance . It’s destroying our country . We need to be strong AND feared ....

There’s only one reason why the libs would all suddenly be flacking for Dr. Carson. IMHO, it’s because they’ve sized him up, see him as low key and mild-mannered, and a fine candidate for being rolled whenever they please to do it.

More of the Rove strategy to siphon support from Donald Trump using Carson rather than Jeb Bush.

Carson is a great human being but is not what the country needs now.

I sure like him. I read his autobiography, and he hearkens back to an America that was decent and virtuous. I don’t think any other candidate does that, at least not as well, but I also think America is too far gone to support a decent man or a return to virtue. More likely, he’ll end up in jail.

In this world and right now, in this country, I don’t want a president who is a nice man

I want an SOB

I want an SOB who will say and do the things I fantasize about doing to the idiots corruptiicrats liars ts and purely evil scum who have had free rein for 7 years. We have an entire US political party in full support of baby butchering. We do not need a nice man to try to reason with them.

I don’t want a nice man who drinks tea with the Iranians while knowing they have evil fanatic lying leaders ... Then goes back to their embassy and sends racist cables and laughs about what an idiot we elected.... Again

Ditto with North Korea

I don’t think Putin China or ISIS will be impressed by a nice man
Nor the Mexican narcocracy

I don’t think the US democrat party can be contained by a nice man. That’s like sending a sheep to negotiate with the wolves.

I want an SOB
But this time I want my SOB

Adios Yeb and welcome to the next presidential cabinet Dr Carson

You must have a good relationship.

Back when I was a youngster, couples respected each other’s political ‘views’. I suspect that is mostly no longer true.
