Ted Cruz said today if people want Kim Davis to resign for not following the law, then President Obama ought to be held to the same standard.
No, he didn’t go so far as to say Obama should be in jail too, but given all the calls for Davis to resign her post, Cruz argued said the president should be getting such calls too.
Davis went to jail today after repeatedly refusing to issue marriage licenses in protest of the Supreme Court’s gay marriage ruling, even defying the high court’s rejection of her appeal.
Now, despite him calling out double standards, just like Mike Huckabee, Cruz believes that Davis is perfectly within her bounds to comply with “a lawless court opinion”:
Those who are persecuting Kim Davis believe that Christians should not serve in public office. That is the consequence of their position. Or, if Christians do serve in public office, they must disregard their religious faith–or be sent to jail.
And with all the calls for her to resign, Cruz asked, “Where is the call for President Obama to resign for ignoring and defying our immigration laws, our welfare reform laws, and even his own Obamacare?”
We’re no longer a nation of laws, we’re a nation of Obama.
That’s a great idea. How about getting started on it... say, six years ago?

He should have. 0vomit belongs in jail, far more than Kim Davis. Gays can always drive a few minutes to the next county and get a license. There is no “next county” we can go to for refuge from 0vomit and his dictatorship.

We’ve had officials of the IRS defying courts in the DC areas for months concerning Lois Lerner emails and other IRS records. Some of them should have long since been put in jail until they could produce the records the court ordered.
