REPORT: TRUMP WILL SIGN GOP LOYALTY PLEDGE

From Mike Allen writing at Politico:

A close associate tells POLITICO that Donald Trump plans to sign a loyalty pledge Thursday that would bind him to endorse the Republican nominee, and would preclude a third-party run. Trump made the stunning decision, which he has long resisted, to avoid complications in getting listed on primary ballots, and to take away an attack line in the next debate, the associate said.

Trump should know loyalty with the liberal GOPE goes one way. Look at their treatment of candidates that beat their stooges. Don’t do it! Even if he signs they will still throw the kitchen sink at him to get Little Jebbie the nomination.

Here is why I’ve abandoned completely the GOP. If you do not win we want to make sure no one votes for you in the General thus removing an alternative because we know the one we run no one will come to the polls for.

Folks, do you really think Trump hasn’t thought this through? We’re talking about a guy who has made his life making deals, creating contracts and playing hardball with every manner of dirt bag.

Sorry, but I’m not going to join the hand wringers here, worrying about this little deal. Donald knows what he’s doing.

What a wimp. He’s too chicken to run third part?

Oh puhleaze. If he did run 3rd party you would say it was his plan all along to split the GOP vote and guarantee Hillary's election.

In the minds of the GOPE fairness was calling McDaniel a racist and paying democrats to cross over and vote for their big government liberal puke.

Politico’s Mike Allen is a frequent guest on Morning Joe, and while I wouldn’t call him a ‘fan’ of Trump’s, he is very friendly to Mr. Trump whenever he calls into Morning Joe, so he might have access to a “close associate” of Trump’s.

I think it’s great that Mr. Trump is driving the news cycle again...LOL. He’s made his signing of this stupid agreement headline news, complete with a presser at 2:00PM FROM TRUMP TOWERS!

ROTFL.

His rivals have to be maaaad. I know Chris Christie is mad. He was on Fox this morning with Martha!

Even if he disregarded the RNC's piece of paper, he has still damaged himself. If he went against his word, Trump would not be able to talk about anything substantive for the rest of the election, just defend his actions. Over and over and over and over again. Trump should have gone 3rd party. The RNC wanted this very, very badly. VERY BADLY. Its they're only useful weapon against Trump.

Hope I'm wrong.

I’m sure Trump is not doing this without something in return. At the very least all the others would have to sign the same pladge I would think. At the most, Trump would have a “fairness” clause in it.

It may have been, or not. I still think his bluff should be called. it would be more legitimate for him to run third party than Republican. Don’t you want him to run third party?

The pledge means nothing. If he signs it he will say he has assurances from Pribus that the GOP will treat him fairly and that means no backdoor deals with Fox News to get rid of him. If he signs it and Fox still starts off each evening show with “let’s get something on Trump”, that means the pledge was a farce from the word go and he’ll back out of it.

I don’t think so. Trump knows how to play dirty, too. Hell, he’ll probably teach the RNC some tricks.

In the end, though, like another FReeper pointed out, Trump knows these people are cowards and that they’re all for sale.

the establishment does not care about the republican nomination. Both party’s donor class have decided on Biden.

All I want is for the destruction of the GOPe because of their lies to us. I think that will become a reality either way he runs, but, 3rd party pretty much guarantees it.
