The anti-Trump angst grows
The Washington Post ^ | August 30, 2015 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 08/30/2015 1:49:25 PM PDT by EveningStar

Republican operatives, insiders affiliated with no campaign and donors with whom Right Turn spoke last week are not pleased about the state of the GOP race. They will say something like: “Yeah, it’s early. Yeah, Rudy Giuliani never became president. But still.” They will tell you public polling is exaggerated, although internal polling shows him leading. They are angst-ridden over Donald Trump’s staying power, but more than that, the inability of the other candidates to respond effectively and present themselves as an effective alternative.

These Republicans, on one hand, despair that an egocentric bully with no discernible political principles should be leading in polls. They observe that his incoherent mix of authoritarianism, protectionism and cronyism is antithetical to the modern conservative movement, and in tone is 180 degrees from Ronald Reagan. But they also note that he is building an organization and displaying “P.T. Barnum showmanship,” as one veteran of GOP presidential campaigns put it. They shake their heads, unable to fully comprehend Trump’s appeal, but more than that they are disturbed by the rest of the field. They do not believe Trump will be the nominee, but high hopes for a deep, quality field have not been met. In particular, they are worried that Trump’s embrace of “nativism” will doom the party if mimicked by others.

Jennifer Rubin writes the Right Turn blog for The Post, offering reported opinion from a conservative perspective.

“It is this condescension that has produced Trump.”

True and she will never understand that.

I hope Trump and his people get to read this. All this complaining from inside_the_Beltway faux conservatives is a great endorsement for The Donald

I think we’re all Cruz supporters.
But Trump is like the Great Flame-o, a vaudeville act who captivated audiences by setting himself on fire.
With the problem being, he could only do it once ...\
The difference is, Donald El Flame-o is setting a lot of others on fire, the right ones, and its a lot of fun watching them sputter.
Just be patient, meine FReund.

He’s for taxing the rich, against fully defunding Planned Parenthood, and in favor of single payer.

You walk into the room
With your pencil in your hand
You see somebody naked
And you say, “Who is that man?”
You try so hard
But you don’t understand
Just what you’ll say
When you get home

Because something is happening here
But you don’t know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

You raise up your head
And you ask, “Is this where it is?”
And somebody points to you and says
“It’s his”
And you say, “What’s mine?”
And somebody else says, “Where what is?”
And you say, “Oh my God
Am I here all alone?”

Because something is happening here
But you don’t know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

You hand in your ticket
And you go watch the geek
Who immediately walks up to you
When he hears you speak
And says, “How does it feel
To be such a freak?”
And you say, “Impossible”
As he hands you a bone

Because something is happening here
But you don’t know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

You have many contacts
Among the lumberjacks
To get you facts
When someone attacks your imagination
But nobody has any respect
Anyway they already expect you
To just give a check
To tax-deductible charity organizations

You’ve been with the professors
And they’ve all liked your looks
With great lawyers you have
Discussed lepers and crooks
You’ve been through all of
F. Scott Fitzgerald’s books
You’re very well read
It’s well known

Because something is happening here
But you don’t know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

Well, the sword swallower, he comes up to you
And then he kneels
He crosses himself
And then he clicks his high heels
And without further notice
He asks you how it feels
And he says, “Here is your throat back
Thanks for the loan”

Because something is happening here
But you don’t know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

Now you see this one-eyed midget
Shouting the word “NOW”
And you say, “For what reason?”
And he says, “How?”
And you say, “What does this mean?”
And he screams back, “You’re a cow
Give me some milk
Or else go home”

Because something is happening here
But you don’t know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

Well, you walk into the room
Like a camel and then you frown
You put your eyes in your pocket
And your nose on the ground
There ought to be a law
Against you comin’ around
You should be made
To wear earphones

Because something is happening here
But you don’t know what it is
Do you, Mister Jones?

Awwww...do the “insider donors” have their thongs in a wad?

In fact, have they otherwise been rendered irrelevant...or concerned that they will simply be throwing their money away?

Hell, that's never stopped them before.

Oh, c’mon. The GOPe hates Cruz. Boehner just called him a ‘jackass’. And his father has major insight into immigration, dictatorships and Christianity. Cruz isn’t going to bow to the GOPe or he would have done it ages ago. Might I remind you that Trump has doled out donations to Dems and that seems to be excused, but Cruz taking donations is suspect?

Yeah, Trump must be a real RINO to get all the other Rino’s wetting their pants over him. Think, McFly.

They just don’t get it, do they?

The reason Trump is leading so far out ahead of the liberals and the rinos is that he is representing what the people have been so frustrated about for years and in particular since odumbo came on the scene. The rinos and so-called representatives “We, The People” sent to do our work have turned a deaf ear on all of us and only seek to better there bank accounts. They are not there to represent anyone but themselves. Well enough is enough and hence the numbers Trump is enjoying. He may not make it to the top (assuming there is corruption in the votes again) but he damn sure is saying what we want to hear.

Jennifer Rubin is not comservative. And I’m glad that she and her fellow travelers don’t get it. (Although I don’t belive that there’s any misunderstanding, just a failure to figure out a way to cheat.)

The GOP (e) does not get it...relative to Donald Trump. In fact: nither does the “Obamabot” media...across the board. I am not going to stand here and tell them what is happening!!! If they cannot see the forest for the trees, they should hang up their political hats and become “Walmart Greeters”!!! I can assure you that if Jeb Bush is th GOP Candidate for POTUS....millions of Conservative Republicans will not turn out to vote for Bush. He will get slaughtered by whoever the Dmocrat Candidate is!!!

We, the Consrvatives were lied to by both McConnell and Boehner...and we will not make that mistake again!!! The Senate & House are Repulbican in number and name only....they really are Obamabots at heart!!!

Trump deserves to be the frontrunner. He has run a great campaign. Who, in the last 50 years, ran a better campaign?

So she is basically calling all of DT supporters ignorant.

I find her piece insulting.

The DC crowd is very very afraid that DT will pull the mask off the cartel in Washington and he won’t fold to their ways.
