Guns and Insanity are Not Compatible
huffingtonpost.com ^ | 8/29/2015 | Barbara Hammond

The NRA, which owns a majority of our representation in Washington D.C., is out of control. They are fully aware of the issues with background checks and continue to push for less stringent regulations. All the while admitting mental illness is a huge issue with our out of control senseless murder rate.

So many places in our country have open carry now it scares me to death. If I walked into a store and saw someone walking around with an assault rifle over their shoulder, and likely wearing some kind of flag shirt, I would leave immediately. Of course, their answer to sane pleas for gun sense is to arm everyone.

Other than shooting a bb gun when I was a child, I've never touched a real gun and never want to. The idea of turning our country into the Wild West of a hundred years ago is insane. Even then in Dodge, Kansas you had to check your gun at the door.

I worry about those who really seem to believe that's a solution. Arm the whole damn country! Arrgh! They're nuts! With guns!

WOW! Guess her view on insanity comes from looking in the mirror. Stereotype much? Carrying an "assault rifle" and wearing "some kind of flag (yech!) shirt". Really. I know of a padded room that's vacant so she could go contemplate her navel all day.

What she wants is to force her elitist liberal ideals on us without benefit of our having anything in the way of an equalizer to respond.

The very fact of armed Americans potentially responding to oppressive tyranny is what has kept these zealots from realizing their dreams.

Lady, not in a million goddam years will I make myself defenseless against the likes of you. Make your laws if you have the power - it won’t make a damn bit of difference.

It's nice when an author reveals complete derangement in the first sentence. Then you don't have to read any more.

Liberalism is a mental illness ... as on display in this article.

As usual, another round of psychological projection so as to allow the author to “prove” whatever point she thought she had when she sat down at the keyboard. Also, as usual, the recycling of various stereotypes, Hollywood-generated “touchpoints”, and emotional handwringing that purports to be a serious article.

Be careful. She sounds like she’s ready to go postal (probably with an unregistered “assault rifle”). Talk about wackos.

And you probably wouldn't walk up a slap that person either.

See? An armed society is a polite society.

You’d have to be crazy to write an article like this.

When I read this crap from skanks like her, I secretly wish she’d get mugged by an MS13 gang member.

...I've never touched a real gun and never want to.

Which, of course, makes her an expert.

The idea of turning our country into the Wild West of a hundred years ago is insane.

No, it's insane to base policy prescriptions on a myth. The "wild west" had nothing on modern Chicongo.

I've never touched a real gun and never want to ...

Little Barbie dropped the last and more important part of her thought ...

... and no one else must be allowed to touch a real gun either.

Lib logic:

1. The mentally ill should not be permitted to have guns.

2. Any person who wants to own a gun is mentally ill.

Jefferson said, “no man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.” Technically speaking I’m not sure this includes Democrats.

Dispelling the myth of the “wild west”

In his book, Frontier Violence: Another Look, author W. Eugene Hollon, provides us with these astonishing facts:
•In Abilene, Ellsworth, Wichita, Dodge City, and Caldwell, for the years from 1870 to 1885, there were only 45 total homicides. This equates to a rate of approximately 1 murder per 100,000 residents per year.
•In Abilene, supposedly one of the wildest of the cow towns, not a single person was killed in 1869 or 1870.

Zooming forward over a century to 2007, a quick look at Uniform Crime Report statistics shows us the following regarding the aforementioned gun control “paradise” cities of the east:

•DC – 183 Murders (31 per 100,000 residents)

Baltimore – 281 Murders (45 per 100,000 residents)

Newark – 104 Murders (37 per 100,000 residents)

It doesn’t take an advanced degree in statistics to see that a return to “wild west” levels of violent crime would be a huge improvement for the residents of these cities.

The truth of the matter is that the “wild west” wasn’t wild at all … not compared to a Saturday night in Newark.

She is driven insane by her own cognitive dissonance. Like all anti-freedom, anti-gun people, she thinks that wanting a gun means you are too paranoid to own one.

LOL! Yup! LDS=liberal derangement syndrome. Besides, the nra doesn’t own them. Not really sure who does because most of them sure as heck don’t work for us.

One particular quirk I’ve noticed about female psychology...

They LOVE having choices, but DESPISE choices they don’t like.

I have recently had the opportunity to speak with several psychiatrists and psychologists as part of a work training program and they all agree (most off the record) that we should re-open the asylums. And fast.

30 - 40% of our jails are people who should have been in an asylum. In some areas it is 60%. Chicago (Cook Co., I believe) has one of the largest mental health prison case loads in the nation - AND a jail overcrowding problem.

If someone tells you that our jails are overcrowded tell them to re-open the asylums and we could easily drop the population by 25-40% over 10 years as well as stop a good number of our violent crimes.
