I Like Donald Trump. I REALLY do. But...
Vanity ^ | 8/29/2015 | Self

Posted on 08/29/2015 9:18:10 AM PDT by cuban leaf

Though this is a vanity, I have linked to the foundational source of my point.

I REALLY like what the Trump is saying. I like his attitude, I lake his effectively destroying PC and his takedown of the MSM. I like seeing all the liberal and GOPe heads exploding. I especially like him running a screen for Cruz.

But I would be very concerned about a Trump presidency. If you look at his stances in the past and some that are current and couple that with is personality, attitude and MO, and imagine him as the "strong man" in the article in the link, you will see where I am coming from.

Wait a minute, what don’t you agree on.

If you are honest (relatively speaking) you will say so.

I am not going to argue down both sides of a fork here. Say what you mean.

You may sincerely mean it, it doesn’t mean it has to be true.

Yes, it most certainly does have to be true.

I posit there IS a principle at play and it’s what it says on the surface: make America great.

That is not a principle. It is a slogan.

Like unto 'worry about the work, and the money will come', if one worries about the principles things, then the greatness will come. "If my people, who are called by my name..."

Trump has already begun to grasp that specific progressive policies are poison to that. If this keeps up, it will MAY dawn on him that progressivism itself as he has learned it is poison to that.

We have neither the time, nor the surety of that for which you might hope. Better to find one whose principles are inbuilt and on the record... In that we find surety.

Yeah... right. We're done.

Oh? You are the Truth (and toss in, the Way, the Life)?

The way God handles truth is by universally revealing it. It isn’t blessed as “what roamer_1 believes from the bottom of his heart.”

Yep, if you are going to go down that arrogance road. Frankly I expected you to clarify, not fold. This was too easy.

The only inbuilt principles are in God. All else can be abandoned given enough of an incentive.

There are several signs of the divine hand in the Trump situation.

Besides no wonder so many people looking for conservatism (though scarcely pure in themselves) end up baying for the moon. I see it daily on FR.

They are wanting to trust in princes. That’s always going to frustrate. The search for “inbuilt” (thanks for confessing the impossibility for mortal man that you want) never was successful and is even more shot full of holes today with the convenience of the internet to gather dirt at will.

The way out of the conundrum is to look for movements of God and invite them to occur and continue by giving God the glory and prayer when they do occur.

Perot redid the Texas education system, better or worse, I don't know. It was obvious he wanted a place in GHWBushs administration, newspaper articles talking about it.

He was rebuffed, publicly as I recall. Rebuff Perot at your peril, he caused Bush to lose and he was happy.

I remember seeing him swinging his wife around the dance floor on election night ( after Clinton won) grinning ear to ear! . He was the happiest loser I have ever seen.

So, you don't care for what Trump is accomplishing at this point

Just what has he accomplished? Flip flopping on every issue on the books? He came down here and talked about his favorite book (the Bible) while signing(harking) his own book in his hand. He talked about Billy Graham like he has anything remotely to do with God (that he can not even admit to asking forgiveness to). Accomplishment worth talking about has fruits (and positive ones). Right now he is campaigning talking the talk but he has a history of not walking the walk. Accomplish my butt.

Me me me conceded talk is all I heard. He talked about his brilliant education yet his vocabulary was on par with a typical 7th grader giving a speech to kids younger than himself.

I see most here cheering him on for taking the establishment/MSM to task and exposing them for what they are.

I saw a squirming kid get called to task for his lack of decorum and he just acted like a deer in the headlights and lashed out. His followers heard the same debate I did yet claim only he was targeted. Every single candidate on that state got asked a negative in their first question, yet he took it as a personal offense. He is a whiny little girl and he plays their same games. Twittering crap she is bleeding.

so quit with the fake FReeper labels please.

Character used to matter to FRers. I don't waffle in my assessment. Trump is a fake conservative that is power hungry and his fruits prove it.

One minute he is for shutting down Planned Parenthood and the next he see the value in some of their services. One minute Hillary is just a thing to be bought and sold, next she is a friend, next the worse thing that could happen to our country.

One minute he is Pro-choice, next he says he is pro-life due to a story of a friend. If you pro-life it is due to understanding the sanctity of life.

Trump is a fake and those that support him are too.

I'm with you, I think.

I see it.

The same picture, or else one quite similar.

If I ever make it towards your locale, I'd intend on sending you a note, days in advance. Maybe I could buy lunch.

Trump isn't running screen for Cruz. That's just nonsense.

I frankly LOVE what Trump is doing to the GOP-E, Democrats and the Democrat SHILLS in the liberal lamestream media. To me, it's entertaining as all hell to watch.

I want to see Trump elected if for no other reason, than to watch liberal talking heads EXPLODE like they did in 1994 when Republican's took the House & Senate away from William Jefferson Blythe Clinton and stopped Hillary-Care (now Obamacare) dead in its tracks.

Watching the meltdown on CNN with Judy Woodruff crying was particularly satisfying for me.

Having said that, pick your horse in this race, get behind them and go balls out for victory.

Trump, Cruz, IMO doesn't matter. Either one's going to rock the foundations of D.C. Trump will certainly be more entertaining to watch while doing it, but I can live with a Cruz Presidency. I don't agree 100% with either one of them on everything, but either's light years better than the moron in the White House today and exponentially better than anything the Democrats have to offer.

Just my .02.

If you look at Ronald Reagan past, you'll find he was a Democrat and was SAG union president to boot.

Not a year before he ran for president.
