They only report the message he wants. His wild statements. Yes, they criticize him, but that’s what he wants. You rarely see anything else reported about him. His business and financial failures. His laughable statements. His lawsuit embarrassments. His constant flip flops, etc. etc.

Dick ERIK Dickson speaking here, I didn’t get my 5 minutes of fame.

I also screwed the audience who came to hear Trump speak.
I called Jeb a conservative icon, how about that for Jeb getting his money’s worth greasing my sweaty palms

DICk Eric Dickson signing off

What excuses?

Maybe the left does want him elected, and the RINOs are helping with the reverse psychology. That would leave people like Cruz with a lot of explaining to do.

BTW, welcome to FR.

I suspect Trump knew little about Obama when he first ran and simply went along with what others were telling him.

If that's the case, he's an utter fool. One didn't have to listen to what others were telling them to know about Obama; all one needed to do was listen to Obama himself and have even a cursory knowledge of his past. Don't try to tell me Trump wasn't that sophisticated. He knew damned well what Obama and his minions were all about.

By the way, the red flags from the article:

"Throw in his misunderstanding of the economic effects of immigration and free trade"

IOW, the benefits of having an open border to Mexico and letting our manufacturing base move to other countries where they make billions in profits because they get to pay those schmucks slave wages.

Free trade and cheap labor is great for the Chamber of Commerce guys. Not so great when you realize it's arming the Chinese war machine and removing America's industrial base that made it possible for us to win the last two world.

Luckily the stock market is probably going to collapse anyway within the next few weeks considering how globally everyone stinks, so even if Erick Erickson has his way and gets his free trade, all those companies will probably still go bankrupt anyway for the very simple reason that the entire country will be broke.

There have been more than enough articles posted on FreeRepublic to satisfactorily explain exactly why those supporting Trump are immune to criticism of his past, and do so without heaping derision on them. Yet a small contingent insists on trying to insult their opinion into ascendancy.

This phenomena reminded me of a line from Ayn Rand:

"If we look at modern intellectuals, we are confronted with the grotesque spectacle of such characteristics as militant uncertainty, crusading cynicism, dogmatic agnosticism, boastful self-abasement and self-righteous depravity —in an atmosphere of guilt, of panic, of despair, of boredom and of all-pervasive evasion.
This new phenomenon I have dubbed "evangelical cynicism." (not to be confuse with religious evangelism, but parallels do give one pause.)

So to those who have set for themselves the goal of spreading the gospel of cynicism: may your labors continue to reward you with the sour fruits they so richly deserve.

If people just want a leader regardless of what they really stand for then this country is already over.

That's what the Weimar Germans liked about Hitler. Everyone else was clueless (except the Communists, whom everybody feared) and he seemed to know where he was going.

They also report all the liberal stuff from seven years ago and further back. In this, the Uniparty and their media machine(s) are united, thus far. They could be like Wavy Gravy in earnest and want “Nobody for President” per his slogan.

So what are we to do? The only thing I know that isn’t the answer is to vote for the EstablishmentGOPeDem. All else is on the table, and I suggest we think long and hard before we dismiss any alternative.

Government-run healthcare? Check. Progressive taxation? Check.

By the way, considering Trump's evil "progressive" tax system is a huge tax break, I find the whole "he's a progressive!' thing pretty stupid. Same thing for his healthcare position, as he has explicitly offered a free market solution for it.

Trump lover excuses...check

What's your excuse for supporting amnesty and the cult of free trade? The hypocrisy is astounding. So who do you want us to be voting for, schmuck?

I’d like to hear Trump explain this....in cohesive sentences we all can understand.

I rather like the guy - for sure we’ve never had an election anything like this. And I think he’d be a lot better than what we’ve had. But he needs to explain some of his previous positions.

“What’s your excuse for supporting amnesty and the cult of free trade”

Conservatism is now opposed to free trade... just wow.

“Schmuck”

You’re fat, you’re ugly. Sit down.

Erickson, again. Many folks were fooled by the emperor in 08. I never liked him but McCain was such a poor alternative, I am not surprised that in retrospect Barack won

Conservatism is now opposed to free trade... just wow.

Nothing conservative about free-trade. The CFR and all the leftists are all supporting your "free trade", which only makes it easier to divest America of its industry.

Jeb is that you? You didn't answer my question on who you want us to vote for.

Great find. In his own words Trump proves what I and others have been saying about him, that he is a liberal. But as you can see by some of the comments those who support liberal Donald Trump don’t care how liberal he is, probably because they are liberal themselves. Should they have their way, this liberal will be the GOP nominee.

And the GOP supported and funded absolutely all of Obama’s economic agenda, and every other agenda, and executive order and illegal amnesty, and made his arming of Iran possible but reversing the treaty provision, and voted all his nominees in and and on and on and on...

And they want to continue with the same damn sh!t.

Might be that there isn’t any answer to a government that hates its own people.

But they sure don’t want Trump making waves in their pool, so in their pool he goes.

Don't believe his defenders, they fail to grasp the simple fact that they should consider a candidate's past also and instead are foolishly supporting liberal Donald Trump based on his campaign rhetoric.

While he may claim to be an opponent of Obamacare, Trump is an advocate of single-payer socialized healthcare similar to what is in place in Canada. Yes, Trump supports the worst version of socialized healthcare. He has said, "The Canadian plan also helps Canadians live longer and healthier than America. We need, as a nation, to reexamine the single-payer plan, as many individual states are doing. While we work out details of a new single-payer plan, there are a number of ways to make the health care system now in place work more efficiently."
