Jeb: Hey let’s do “free tuition” and pay back students who don’t graduate in four years

Jeb Bush has a fantastically awful idea when it comes to college education. He thinks community college students should get “free” tuition for two years. If that’s sounds familiar, it’s because it’s the exact same thing President Barack Obama proposed in January. Which shows how completely hypocritical Bush is because he came out against Obama’s plan in January. Oh, but Bush’s plan gets even more #headdesk inducing. He wants universities to PAY BACK students who don’t graduate in four years.

If kids can’t graduate with a four-year degree in four years, there ought to be some payback to their families or to them, or their got to be some support for the loans they’ve taken out.

This is so fiscally irresponsible and reprehensible, it’s not even funny. For one, it would cause major federal budget issues because the government has increasingly gotten involved in higher education over the last 50 years. Cato Institute wrote in 2009 how higher education federal spending hit $36.6B, not counting the $31.4B in research grants. College Raptor’s guide to financial aid shows the federal government covers 58% of student aid nationwide. This includes up to $5500 in Perkins Loans and up to $12,500 in Direct Subsidized Loans and Direct Unsubsidized Loans for undergrad students. This doesn’t count the Pell Grants or Supplemental Education Opportunity Grants available either. So it’s possible, Bush’s plan could end up making the federal government pay TWICE in both loans and the payback, because the universities sure aren’t going to use athletics fees to pay students back.

Did Jeb really suggest this?

He is already pure liberal Democrat on three or four major issues. Why would an otherwise functioning adult vote for him for anything but loon trainer?

Dep't of Education cabinet post for Jeb in the Cruz/Trump administration -- just before the D of Ed is eliminated. :') Or, he can get a job with the Clinton or Sanders administration.

D’s and R’s are now just going to have a pander-off, instead of campaigning.

My oldest graduated in 3.5 years and will finish graduate school in 20 months instead of the 24 that her classmates are doing. She will be ready to step into great, highly specialized field.

I’m with you. I worked all through college to pay for college. I went an entire $1, 500 in debt (to have some fun in my second senior year). That was paid off in two years.

...pay back students who don’t graduate in four years.
Not one student will then graduate. They will be 1 credit shy. They get all the money back.

Why doesn’t Jeb just give all Americans a million dollars. It’s simpler.

I've got a better. Let's require the students pay the loans back.

Or, if they flunk out, the school has to eat the cost of the loans.

That will give the schools incentive not to admit people with IQs in the low 30s: which would eliminate all grievance-studies majors, journalists, and education majors: being the primary sources of "college graduates" for the left.

In order to redress sexism against males in colleges (more women graduate with degrees than men), let's institute "No means yes" laws.

It's simple Marxism:

"From each according to her looks, to each according to his desire."

Makes as much sense as anything the libs are demanding.

And hey, it'd teach the Womyn's Studies majors that looks matter more than attitude. Maybe some of them will start to lose weight and to shave.

Ironic that he claims some of his opponents aren't conservative enough and then he turns to the socialist/commie/progressive stance on "Free Stuff"....

His IQ appears to go down 5 points with every "new idea" he airs out...pretty soon he'll be an amoeba.

So Joe Biden may not be up for a run, but the Democrats desperately need a replacement candidate—and it’s getting late for a new candidate to jump in. It’s hard to raise money and build an organization from scratch at this point.

Meanwhile, it’s clear GOP primary voters aren’t up for supporting Jeb’s liberal butt.

The GOP has too many presidential candidates, and it the Democrats have too few. Obama wants to support a candidate that will further Obama’s ‘legacy’.

Seems pretty clear to me that Jeb! should switch teams and get himself on the Democrat primary ballot pronto.

Yes and it would be closer to “free” if the FERAL Government was “not here to help” with our money.

Again, like you say violating our constitution.

That is why we need a real constitutional scholar, not that pissant in the White House that saw it under a piece of glass once.

One that can put a team together to strip the laws that violate the constitution furn the thru the House and Senate and deem them null and void.

Then, once again we will be the strongest republic.
