Mississippi's Most Dangerous Towns

JACKSON, Miss. – Onlyinyourstate.com has put out its list of the most dangerous cities in Mississippi.

The magnolia state is ranked the 36th most dangerous state in the country, putting it in the bottom half of states when it comes to safety. Home Security Shield helped onlyinyourstate.com come up with the list.

HSS says, “Our rankings are based solely on the data publicly released each year by the FBI. A crime is a crime, so we took both violent and property crimes into account when compiling our list of Mississippi’s most dangerous cities.”

The top ten most dangerous cities in Mississippi, according to onlyinyourstate.com, are:

10. Moss Point

9. McComb

8. Pascagoula

7. Greenwood

6. Vicksburg

5. Clarksdale

4. Cleveland

3. Greenville

2. Jackson

1. Indianola

First the Onlyinyourstate.com website is a junk website like Zero Hedge or other like it.

But, this tells me the info is really junk.

“A crime is a crime, so we took both violent and property crimes into account when compiling our list of Mississippi’s most dangerous cities.” “

These towns could have a higher volume of preoperty crimes that skew the data and likely are small places where a couple of crimes would greatly skew the data.

Based on this standard, St. David Maine would probably be one of Maine’s most dangerous places based on this one crime.

“ST. DAVID, Maine — Two men were charged Wednesday in the theft and sale of about $45,000 worth of potatoes to businesses and residents in the St. John Valley for the last 4 ½ years, state police said.”

Population: 804.

I forgot to mention that St. David is as far north in Maine as you can get.

Same here in NJ; the violent crime is fairly well concentrated. We just need to post signs as in the original “Mad Max” indicating there is no reason for normal people to be there (to protect any visitors/tourists passing through).

White people care less about the level of violence in welfare enclaves, than about the probability that the "problem teens" will cause trouble in white neighborhoods.

Thanks for doing that bit of research, Deport, to clarify what we already knew (#36 out of 50 is pretty darned safe).

When I first read that line, “The magnolia state is ranked the 36th most dangerous state in the country, putting it in the bottom half of states when it comes to safety,” I immediately saw that it was written the opposite way it should have been. And, from seeing this thread, I see I’m not the only one who saw that.

If you are a tourist, program your GPS to place a 3 mile warning circle around the intersection of “Central Ave” & “MLK Street”. Do not enter the danger zone.

Will probably be excoriated by some for mentioning this, although I wouldn’t expect that much here on FR. Mississippi has the highest percentage of blacks among the 50 United States. Last figure I saw was 37%. Much of the Black population is in the Second Congressional district, Bennie Thompson-d, our other 3 Congressmen are Rs, unfortunately, Boehner Rs. The cities on the list 1 through 7 are in the 2nd CD. I I live in the 1st CD. Mississippi is home and I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather live.

We were on our way home to Texas and got off the interstate to get a bite to eat, I think it was Greenwood, Miss. Late at night, got turned around, found ourselves in a black neighborhood. Came around a corner and there were at least 50 blacks all over the street. Don’t know what they were doing there, partying, fighting or something else. I was scared half to death. Got a few yells, hard looks but they let us pass . I will always remember that.

Perhaps it was another town ? Greenwood, MS is 25 miles west of I-55. Regardless, you always have to be careful of where you are, especially at night. I’ve stayed or gone through Black towns without any problems whatsoever (visited Tuskegee, AL, where they were very friendly).

If you find yourself in Jackson, Mississippi on a Saturday night, you might want to avoid that redneck joint called the Dew Drop Inn.

Yes it could easily have been another town. The scary thing was it was so late and we had surprised them doing something. I was driving and at first I didn’t think they were going to move out of the way.

Sure; why not? They have little say in the elected “leadership” in welfare enclaves, yet are expected to fund them. The last thing they need is young welfare spawn fanning out and ransacking the neighborhoods that house the hand that feeds (and will feed the next generation, and the next one).

An acquaintance used that model to buy a home in SE Pennsylvania; he used a compass to draw a circle around the welfare hives (for about a twenty-mile radius), then told his fiancé to pick an area outside of the circles to buy a home. Worked like a charm; his property has appreciated nicely.

He was puzzled by a concentration of blacks appearing on some website showing ethnic breakdowns; turns out he was about a dozen miles away from a state prison...

I would imagine his thinking was the same as mine. If they are the 36th most dangerous state than they are actually the 14th or 15th safest state, which would put them in the top tier, not the bottom.
