Since this is the only first-person account of someone that actually observed women in the Ranger training that I've seen or read, I think this piece ought to be read by all who've posted on this in recent days.

It’s sick, wrong, and weakens the force. Looking at women with shaved heads, trying to act like men.

Good for them! Send them to the Regiment. They earned it.

IIRC the two who made it through were West Point graduates.

That’s a fascinating read. These gals earned their tabs. Haters will keep on hatin’, but I think it’s great.

sorry, not first person.

Since my graduation, I have followed the progress of these remaining female Rangers with interest. Although virtually all of the discussion I have heard surrounding their advancement through the course...

Ridiculous PC crap. Completing a rigorous course like that doesn’t make a woman fit for a combat role and in a sane normal society it would be beyond comprehension. But when you have a mentality that thinks two men or two women can be married, or anyone who walks across our borders is entitled to free benefits most other members of society can’t get but have to pay for, any kind of garbage is acceptable. INCLUDING this. Another Obamanation designed to weaken our military and create fricton in society.

This proves, without a doubt, that all females between the ages of 18 and 55 should be forced to register with the Selective Service.

Were male Americans of African descent drafted into the Infantry during the Vietnam War? Yep.

So why not women?

This is discrimination. All American women have the right to have their heads blown off.

He lost me at paragraph 5. using one of the left’s favorite pejorative rhetorical terms: “haters”.

No sale, ‘Rudy Mac’.
Nice try though.

And good luck with captain or major, this article should help.

I have read and heard an increasing amount of bad-mouthing from a plethora of haters

Haters? A US Army ranger calls someone a "hater"? Doesn't smell right. The rest of the story is peppered with jargon to lend credibility. But one word is sooo out of place.

If they are badass enough to make it through Ranger training, put them in combat and let them prove there metal like all Rangers. They are obviously capable; use them for what they were trained for.

"We are universally in awe of what these two female Rangers have accomplished."

Why in awe if men an women are equal?

Regardless if the instructors were forced to go softer on these women or not (I’ll never know), the sickest thing in my mind is the fact that there is actually a push to put women into combat.

War is the worst possible action mankind resorts to to solve problems or destroy evil. Women should be protected from this horror, not promoted to go to it. I can’t imagine what is going to happen when one of these women get captured by the likes of ISIS/Daesh, and they video tape them being raped, scalped, dismembered and overall brutalized before having their head sawed off with a rusty knife. It will happen.

This also doesn’t even take into account what adding sexual tensions to a combat unit will do to distract it from it’s overall mission. If women in a unit make it more effective and lethal, then do it. But history and studies show that it more often then not, ruins unit effectiveness.

The Ranger school is not a “leadership development” course. It is a combat course designed to train individuals to lead combat units in combat situations.

If Women currently can’t be assigned to combat units, why are they taking up slots that others have applied to attend the school?

Kudos to any and all graduates.

A couple of points from an old guy ... if you are a young man today, you grew up with feminists. A young man sees things differently than old farts. There is no doubt that women can surpass some men physically. But the question should be asked should women strive to be men. Should they be masculine? Beyond the lofty causes of freedom and liberty, men go to war to ultimately protect women. Additionally, men should want to come home from war to a woman. There is a motivation in that.

I just can't imagine women making the military more effective. Women certainly don't make the corporate work place more effective. That is just my personal experience since I have to be careful of my speech and be "sensitive" or I will lose my job. That is a slippery slope that we do not want to go down in the military. Most young men don't have the experience to understand that.
