Wow! Laura Ingraham Just SCHOOLED Charles Krauthammer on 14th Amendment and Donald Trump
Gateway Pundit ^ | 8/21/15 | Jim Hoft

For those of you who have never seen Charles Krauthammer get schooled by a fellow journalist – here you go…
ingraham krauthammer

Conservative radio host Laura Ingraham just absolutely destroyed Charles Krauthammer on the 14th amendment and anchor babies tonight on Special Report.

Charles Krauthammer: The issue of anchor babies or birthright citizenship, it is a sideshow because it’s a symptom…

Laura Ingraham: There’s quite a debate about whether the 14th Amendment has to be repealed. I know a lot of people glibly say… That’s not actually been settled and you could do a whole hour on the jurisprudence surrounding that.

Krauhammer: It’s been around for 150 years.

Ingraham: Well, we actually didn’t have a problem with illegal immigration in the 1800s as we know. That wasn’t an issue. It was directed at the slaves who did deserve to stay here. So, it really was an important clause and the author of the clause Howard Jacob said it didn’t apply to foreigners in the United States. But, you know, this is a long conversation… And I know Trump’s rise annoys a lot of people now. And I get it. But the people in this town who have been propping up two parties that have failed the Middle Class, failed them on these global trade deals… that have absolutely not delivered what they promised to deliver to the Middle Class, failed them on enforcing the border, failed them on all these ideas that America was going to export its values around the world… They’re ready to throw in with the guy who has all these conflicting positions maybe because the guys who said they were going to be consistent weren’t. And they’re not fighting for the people.

Krauthammer: It’s easy to go and attack Washington and it’s a clever dodge. The issue here is birthright citizenship…

Ingraham: And Bush and Obama didn’t stop it. Neither stopped it. Neither did McConnell or Boehner when they had the chance. They’re not stopping it. People are tired of it.

Wow. That was brutal.
Never has Charles Krauthammer sounded more like a Wshington elitist than he did tonight.

If the gruberment has decided to selectively enforce laws, they're going to get a big surprise when their gunthugs come hanging around trying to selectively enforce "the laws" on "people who are tired of it"...

Remember a few years ago, when Rush Limbaugh said the two most intelligent men he could think of were Justice Antonin Scalia and Charles Krauthammer? He even said that if he could have someone else’s brain, he’d be unable to decide which of the two’s brain he’d want.

I bet he’s glad he didn’t get Krauthammer’s brain. Charles, who seemed so wise and sensible back then, has really turned into a turd brain lately. I chalk it up to being sold out to the GOPe and their commitment to Jeb Bush, plus a raging case of Trump Hatred Red Butt.

Local talk show host needs to be schooled on this. He claimed the 14th amendment means illegal alien woman can have a baby here and the baby is a citizen. Its the law he said. Clicked off the radio. The ignorance was giving me a headache.

I don’t think ‘failed the middle class’ is quite the right way to put it, either. We, as Americans, expect our laws to be upheld & rational policy to be instituted. Allowing an invasion is injurious to the average person (not the middle class only, the working poor as well) - through more crime, less availability of jobs, more taxpayer dollars wasted. That’s what we in the ‘middle class’ see going on.

Great post.

Krauthammer: It’s easy to go and attack Washington and it’s a clever dodge

Well, at least he did not blame George Bush

Put today’s exchange with Krauthammer on top of her calling out Erick Erickson’s “Jeb State” and I’d say she’s on a roll, having decided what her path will be for the election season.

Americans are pissed off, Krauthammer. Get that through your unpatriotic think tank.

You got that right! The Bushes have undoubtedly made
Dana Preen-O a millionaire by now. She will never admit to anyone else if a Bushy is in a race.

She is a mess, loyal but not unbiased and honest. She is just cuter than Karl Rove who does and says all the same things. Is there a whit of difference between the two?

Krauthammer got the Trump smack down a couple or three weeks ago, after popping off some inane but insulting remark against Trump, with his best elitist scowl.

He and George Will both got the bare handed, double smack down, delivered by Trump, and they have both been in high snit mode ever since.

It’s so transparent, it’s become funny. Certainly it’s no longer analysis with Will and Kraut.

He kept babbling about deportation being impossible

The last time I received a speeding ticket, I babbled on to the Judge about all speeders not being ticketed so I shouldn't be held to account. Needless to say, I didn't win that one. Judge said "pay up or go to jail" so I paid. The all or none argument on deportation is just as silly as mine and I suspect the good Dr. knows that.

So, blaming Washington for Washington’s abject failure is now a “clever dodge?”

I just lost tons of respect for Krauthammer. I don’t think you can get more tone-deaf than that, Charles. But I will give credit where credit is due: Krauthammer wore his “Team Republicrat” jersey with no apparent sense of shame.

And that takes all the chutzpa of, say, a “circus clown.”

Laura isn’t only a mere lawyer, she’s also served as a Supreme Court Clerk, which requires expertise in the Constitution.

Laura Ingraham was not a mere Supreme Court clerk but a Supreme Court clerk for Justice Thomas, prior to that she was a speech writer for Ronald Reagan (as an intern IIRC)!

From Wikipedia:

In the late 1980s, Ingraham worked as a speechwriter in the Ronald Reagan administration for the Domestic Policy Advisor. She also briefly served as editor of The Prospect, the magazine issued by Concerned Alumni of Princeton. After law school, in 1991, she served as a law clerk for Judge Ralph K. Winter, Jr., of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, in New York and subsequently clerked for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

Hat tip to Dan Patrick and KSEV radio in Houston for carrying her on abacast so I can listen while working in the Bakken.

Laura ALWAYS delivers on The Panel. It’s especially enjoyable when George Will gets smacked up by her too. He has blood coming out of where ever…..

And I admit, I almost feel sorry for Charles. Now he tries to change the argument to a more palatable associated issue. Like from anchor babies to agreeing on a wall.

"The all or none argument on deportation is just as silly as mine and I suspect the good Dr. knows that."

I suspect he doesn't. He lives in the Beltway Cocoon. He lives, eats, breathes, and sleeps in a world dominated by New York Times, Washington Post, and mainstream media propaganda. He has no clue about what a family in Lebanon Kansas thinks. They might just as well hail from the moon. "You can't deport 12 million immigrants" has been repeated so many times in the Cocoon that the true believers likely think it's part of the constitution. Krauthammer is often funny, and often insightful, but don't rely on him for guidance on how to change government.
