We live in an increasingly depraved world where people make a lot of bad choices out of desire for quick and easy satisfaction.

Why didn’t the Ashley Madison people just put their server in the bathroom?

If a company with your information and files goes bankrupt, your information and files are property of the bankruptcy court. you don’t own you.
consider “the cloud” is nothing but servers. one bankruptcy cloud company and anyone using that server system is screwed.
I have zero sympathy for these people.
Today on Shepard Smith, he had a government “lawya” blowing about how the government wouldn’t tolerate the use if government e-mail accounts ( as has been shown) for this kind of stuff because they ( the government) has “standards” of behavior to protect.
I almost had a traffic accident laughing!
These people are beyond stupid. When this story first broke there were threads here about it, someone suggested that this AM site had a lot more SCAM in it than “real people.” They said to search for “ashley madison scam” to see what is going on. I did that search and clicked a couple of links to forums people setup to complain about how they were being scammed (and also getting suckered out of big bucks each month).... it was fascinating to read about it.
Looking at the Josh Duggar situation, if AM users were as stupid, they deserve to get caught.
Let’s see, using his real name, similar birth date, real physical address, real (not pseudonym) email account, credit card for payment.
Surprised he does not boast about AM on his Facebook page.

Then there’s Ashley Madison itself.
All it takes is one rouge system administrator with a thumb drive to end it all.
Perhaps a server manufacturer who needed to troubleshoot a problem, went rouge. Who knows?
