Nothing Funny About the Damage the Ashley Madison Hack Will Do to People

RUSH: This Ashley Madison hack, by the way, I was joking. But, you know what, that's gonna ruin, I mean really ruin some lives. I mean, a lot of people are laughing about this. And one of the reasons is apparently many of the e-mail addresses and the identities of people that were registered on that website are from Washington and work in government. But, I mean, this is a disaster for the people involved here. And you have to ask yourself, you know, okay, you want to have an affair? Why would you go to the Internet to register for the chance? Of all the places, when you know that there are hacks.

You don't know the people running these websites. You have no idea if they're gonna start selling information. Of all the ways in which you might want to engage in infidelity, why in the world would you sign up for it on the Internet? (interruption) Well, I know they said it was secure, but you have to understand that it isn't. Well, they're all lying about this. Everybody is lying about their prowess. They're lying about their looks. They're lying about their talents. They're lying about their age. They're lying about everything. (interruption) Oh, yeah, easy way to do it, right. I wouldn't know.

I'm just telling you -- well, we're sitting here laughing about it, but it is going to destroy. If this stuff ever does get fully disclosed, becomes plastered all over everything public, it's really going to destroy a lot of families, a lot of people. There's nothing funny about it in terms of the real damage this is gonna cause real people.

I’d like to say something about people draw to depravity but what’s the point?

We live in an increasingly depraved world where people make a lot of bad choices out of desire for quick and easy satisfaction.

Don’t do the cheat if you can’t hit “delete”.

Well I don't know but I'd guess it's because by and large, these are some of the stupidest people on the face of the planet.

Not necessarily the stupidest, but certainly the most arrogant.

Why didn’t the Ashley Madison people just put their server in the bathroom?

No sympathy at all for those caught up in this for a couple of reasons.

Stupidity is at least number two.

Correct. And think about it: they can't even ascribe it to a spontaneous moment of weakness - the subscribers deliberately and premeditatedly sought out adultery. They had a plan they put into execution days and weeks beforehand.

I work in that general area ... I won’t argue against the stupid, but I insist on the arrogant.

Gov’t workers who signed up with their official .gov email addresses which means on a gov’t computer on gov’t time.

Sometimes you just can’t fix stupid.

consider bankruptcy.

If a company with your information and files goes bankrupt, your information and files are property of the bankruptcy court. you don’t own you.

consider “the cloud” is nothing but servers. one bankruptcy cloud company and anyone using that server system is screwed.
