Glenn Beck: Why Do Conservative Pundits Support Trump?

Glenn Beck wants to stage a conservative intervention. The former Fox News host and prominent conservative commentator is confounded that so many Republican voters are attracted to Donald Trump. And Beck is particularly bewildered by the conservative pundits who are hooked on the bombastic real estate mogul. "Why are big name 'conservatives' supporting him?" Beck asked wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday. Beck went on to name names, calling out some of Trump's biggest boosters in conservative media: Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Michael Savage.

"I am not talking about the average Joe, I am talking about Sean Hannity or Ann Colter (sic). How about Savage or Rush?" Beck wrote. "These are smart people. What am I missing? Just based on his favorability ratings he could never win in a general. Research shows that he may be near his ceiling now."

-—That is the REAL question. Beck is insane (I believe that literally). I wish people would stop supporting Beck he needs serious help

I think he's great. He predicted a wave of revolutions sweeping across the MidEast 6 months before the Arab Spring. He said that Benghazi was about arms smuggling two days after it happened.

He's done more than anyone to expose the history of the Progressive movement and the Fabian Socialists.

Most importantly, it seems to me that he is pursuing truth to the best of his ability.

That being said, I think Glenn is still drying out, which explains his weepiness and other similar qualities.

If you think Trump is the most Conservative you are badly out of touch.

Would a real Conservative say (just last week) that socialized medicine worked just fine in Canada and Scotland?

That he favored progressive income taxation?

That Planned Parenthood did some good things and continue with federal funding?

I could go on with other examples but I don’t have the time. Trump is a RINO and a liberal.

Glenn went soft a long time ago. If he doesn’t understand why people like Rush and Coulter and others support Trump then maybe he hasn’t been kicked around enough by the political class as they strive to maintain political status quo that is destroying America. Trump is no worse than Romney from a political issue standpoint and he is a far more successful business man than Romney ever was. Its just a fact. Yes he failed a few times but so did Romney. There are no supermen out their Lois just survivors and Trump not only survived but has thrived and though he does have a colorful personality its no more shocking than Judge Judy or anyone from Queens where Trump was born.

I think any conservative should be able to appreciate how Trump is absolutely destroying the political status quo and nuking political correctness. He hasn’t lost a fight yet and managed to not just push back but even win the largest share of Hispanic support in some polls even though the media tried very hard to smear him as a bigot. If nothing else we should be learning from him. Learning that we can fight the media and win, that we can defeat the political class and that can win support by speaking to the interests of the American people rather than to internationalist corporatist goals. Trump isn’t my guy but he’s not my enemy either and if he can blow up the machine we will all be better for it.

Glenn Beck: Why Do Conservative Pundits Support Trump?

-—I think Beck is jealous that Trump hasn’t insulted him so his ratings would go up. Also, I think Beck is trying desperately to be relevant after his last few years of total insanity.

Okay, last post on Beck...he’s to crazy for me to waste any more time lol

-—Fine, then don’t vote for him, but the rest of us like him so why not respect that and move on

We are in the process of determining the qualifications of candidates for the presidency. I thought it would be a good idea to inject some sanity into the delirium.

Until now, I had largely defended The Donald, but no longer. I hope more people watch him in extended formats like this so they can get a better picture of him. I don't want this guy to be president. He would be a disaster. OK, not nearly as bad as Obungle, but a disaster nonetheless.

We want the illegal alien inundation stopped.

And you're going to trust a guy who makes his money in the golf course (construction workers and groundskeepers) and hotel/entertainment business (maids, cooks, construction workers, and groundskeepers)? Who the hell do you think Trump employs??

He is already waffling about deportation. Don't you get it? HE'S LYING!!!

Sheesh. Love is blind.

Here is a real easy one for you. Republicans have reneged on all their promises for about a decade now. There is no reason to support Republicans and there is zero reason to expect Republicans will not renege on all future promises.

Beck stated once, I heard him because I was listening, that he smoked pot every day for about 15 years. that is right for 15 years every day from his mid teens to his late 20’s.

I honestly think that he is brain damaged and mean that sincerely. I do not know how you can smoke that much pot w/o being mentally absent.

I have no problem with all that you write, and have no problem with Trump blowing up the machine. We need this.

The real question is, whether he is genuine given that he’s been all over the map on abortion, Planned Parenthood, one time even favoring a single-payer plan, even immigration (having criticized Romney for his anti-immigration policies), and of course he won’t commit into saying that he’d oppose the enforcement of the gay marriage edict from the Court. And just today said he’d choose Sen. Ayotte for a VP. This is not really a case of “blowing up the machine,” and I wonder if he is simply trying blow up the Trump image into a global name recognition. This is what a showman does.

One important aspect. Though, not the only one. Trump has different emphasis on US immigration than your premise. What is it?

Trump said the magic word: deport!

He's already waffling.

This is a guy who enters into contracts to borrow huge amounts of money, and then turns around and pulls a bankruptcy, repeatedly. Do you really trust a guy who breaks his promises like that to do what he says?

I just don't get how credulous FR's Dupes for Donald really are. It's mystifying.

I’m still chuckling over the memory of Beck a few years ago acting suicidal over a hemorrhoid removal operation.

Maybe you should read things past their headlines before posting.

Cruz’s spokesperson, Catherine Frazier, reiterated to Breitbart News that “from day one, Sen. Cruz has been leading the charge to stop President Obama’s lawlessness, which is the direct cause of this humanitarian crisis.” She said Cruz argues that, at the same time, “these young children are very real victims of the President’s promise of amnesty–because of it, they have been subjected to horrific physical and sexual abuse from international drug cartels smuggling them into the country.”

“Private charities and churches are stepping up to provide food, medicine, and toys for these young children, which is a compassionate response that embodies American values,” she continued. “But the most compassionate response–which Senator Cruz is leading the fight to accomplish–is to end the President’s amnesty and to humanely and expeditiously reunite these children with their families back home.”

Perhaps you would have preferred these unaccompanied children die in the desert, of starvation, or thirst.

I swear the Trump supporters turn me off to him more than Trump himself.

Are you even aware of the fact Trump is now only discussing sending back the “criminals”. He has said the ones here to work are ok.
