Is the Pope no longer using AC in the Vatican? Is Algore now flying commercial and living in a modest 3500 sq ft mansion?

What is with this Pope? I'm getting sick of him promoting stupid unproven crap. Isn't he supposed to be talking to God and being a spiritual leader for his millions of blind followers?

This why I don't and never have believed in organized religion even as a young child who went to Sunday School. Well at least he isn't promoting enslaving, raping, torturing, butchering people as Islam does.

Still, and with due respect to Catholics, I don't give one dime what the Pope has to say. Someone please explain to me why a secret group of Cardinals vote in some favorite guy who supposedly will have a direct connection to God. What? God's will? Puhlease. It's always been a political/personality contest in the Catholic Church.

I want to believe. Organized religion doesn't make it easy, especially with all their inane rituals. I can talk to my Creator without all the mumble-jumble. I doubt he is so petty as to need such. My not so humble opinion.

Not only is AC immoral, so is any devise that heats ... better to bake or freeze to death than allow climate change ... this follows as both UV reflective eye wear and suntan lotion were also declared immoral and should be banned.

Not vanity, but hubris ...

Air conditioning is a fine example of taking dominion. It is included as one of the many blessings of obedience to the dominion mandate along with: indoor plumbing, indoor heat, availability of electricity, modern medicine, air travel, music recordings, F350 4door 4x4 long bed turbo diesel, 300 Winchester magnum ammunition, micro breweries, Pringles, and pushup bras. Just like anything else air conditioning can be used for evil or for good, but its existence is evidence of human obedience to God.

compares it unfavorably to the European willingness to sweat through the heat of summer,

"Willingness"? Interesting spin on that.

In 2003, over 70,000 died in Europe's heat wave. I guess they were "willing" to die.

In 2006 and 2012, two of the worst North American heat waves of the last century... including 500,000 without power for extended periods... 252 total dead. I guess the extra 69,748 Americans who lived were not "willing" to contribute.

In 2006, over 1000 dead in July alone, in the Netherlands alone. (Same population as VA and NJ combined) They clearly were "willing", too. If only we stupid Americans would wake up and be more dead like Europeans.

Look at the older movies before Air Conditioning (A/C) was a standard and unremarkable. Desk fans were everywhere. I remember getting close to our hassock floor fan on the hot days. In the dry climates, there were swamp coolers and in humid places, houses had deep porches, high ceilings and window awnings.

Now, after 2 generations of A/C, many of those design features and habits have disappeared. Cinderblock apartments and homes without A/C will lead to the same kind of heat emergencies as struck Western Europe several years ago and multiple times in NYC & Northeast last century.

What is lost in these neo-Luddite screeds is that technology is working. A Central A/C older than 15 years is only 2/3s as efficient as a new one. New tech is also starting to look at internal baffles to cool minimally in the areas that are unoccupied and more where people are.

What scares me is that the EPA is filled with bureaucrats that have this Luddite mindset. They would keep pushing power requirements in the terms of energy efficiency to the point of impracticality. The best solution there would be for the EPA Buildings and the homes of the senior managers to abide by their own rulings. Let them sweat it out!

They speak of air conditioning and climate control as something that only rich people have.

Have they never heard of old people succumbing to the hear during heat waves in urban areas all over the country. When they collapse and die by who knows how many because society didn’t want too much electricity used, will they then decry that? Who will they blame?

Meanwhile they fly at 30K ft and above in their G5s, G6s, 7X7s in climate controlled comfort slapping together their next self-righteous speech.

Here in Central Louisiana, we have just gone through a week where the heat index was over 110 degrees F., with an 80% or more humidity index, to add in, and no rain.

I live in an apartment complex. The area is conducive to intermittent power drop-outs. It is after all hurricane country. When i do open the windows, during those times, the apt. does not go below 82 degrees, inside.

Now, if some idiot in Italy, who i care naught about, wishes to start calling air conditioning a ‘sin’, i would gladly invite him to come visit in the mid-July to mid-August period, in all of his fancy multi-layered threads, when the air conditioning is off, where i would give him a cup of faucet water to share the heat.

Dear Pope:

RE: No A/C

Get bent!

Thank you and

goodnight.

PS, my little 110v window a/c is purring along keeping my mancave and COPD'd lungs happy. Hands off, or you'll lose them. Fair warning!

;)

I remember in the 1970s living in Clute Texas, feeling GUILTY about running my AC because the “smart ones” were telling us back then that our AC was destroying the climate of the earth causing GLOBAL COOLING! So I don’t believe their lies THIS time. Can you imagine being in 90 to 100 degree weather without AC? And how about winters without central heat? People would DIE. But that is probably the goal. We were in NYC 2 weekends in a row, before and after our cruise to Bermada island. It was HOT in both placed. 90s. We NEEDED the AC!

It’s always just a matter of time before leftists take control of any entity that has money to control. Every foundation like Rockefeller or Ford that started out as conservative eventually ends up being controlled by leftists. It’s all about control. The Catholic Church has been heading that way for quite some time.

When I was young I did a lot of labor in the sun, and no way could I make the transition from twelve hours in a fridge to twelve hours in an oven. AC went unused in all my vehicles. Got to be a habit.

First, remove every air conditioning unit in the District of Criminals and a 100 mile radius around it.

Then come back and talk to me.
