She’s got it almost right. We need to vet those who come to our country. Moeover, we really do need to start working on logically and carefully expanding our territory. I’ve come to disagree with DT on building the wall. Not because it isn’t needed, but because its a defensive move, not an offensive move. Why not have a buffer zone and future American territory carved out of the northern states of mexico? We already have their population, why not have the Land as well?
You don't know what you're talking about. The H-1B workers in most of the work force are techies and highly skilled contractors that major companies are unable to attain domestically due to whatever factors. And such workers are highly compensated along with their American co-workers.
My company was one of those who required the H-1b contractors.
And for what it's worth, each and every one was closely monitored to insure their Visas were updated and those who weren't were immediately released.........
I agree, the whole concept needs to be rethought and the #s pared way down.
What do we really need in the way of immigrants for anyway? Screw that “cheap labor” argument. Hasn’t the quest for “cheap labor” caused us enough problems?
This country now has 330 million plus untold millions here illegally. The process is loaded with fraud, $$ to marry a citizen, arranged marriages amongst immigrants here and counterparts overseas, birthright citizen (outdated rationale), family chain immigration, birth tourism. The list goes on and on. And most of them by far just crowd into cities, their own little enclaves while millions enjoy our standard of living and welfare benefits. The cities are hellholes of crime, traffic, pollution, welfare, screwed up schools and hoods, and paving over farmland and small towns as people sprawl to get the hell out.
Enough. No mas. We are running out of room. BTW, where are the “climate changers” with respect to all these foreigners coming in and contributing to consumption “man made climate change”?
My entire department in a "major" IT corporation was laid off in 1999 and replaced by an out sourcing contractor who only hired H-1B. I almost lost my house and my marriage suffered. I eventually was hired back when my "major" IT employer realized that mistake they had mad 2 years later.
So I am very familiar with the H-1B visa program.
And for what it's worth, each and every one was closely monitored to insure their Visas were updated and those who weren't were immediately released.........
Lie, the H-1B program is so abused and corrupt it is the butt of jokes.
The H-1B workers in most of the work force are techies and highly skilled contractors that major companies are unable to attain domestically due to whatever factors. at the wages being offered.
Fixed.
No. Our government invited them in.
Some of our other beloved legal immigrants include:
-- Anwar al-Awlaki, the man whose death in Afghanistan provoked Rand Paul to stage a 13-hour filibuster in opposition to the use of drones against -- I quote -- "American citizens";
-- the Fort Hood shooter, Nidal Malik Hasan;
-- the attempted Times Square bomber, Faisal Shahzad;
-- all those Somali immigrants living in Minnesota, bloc-voting for Al Franken before flying to Syria to fight with ISIS;
-- Sirhan Sirhan;
-- the 9/11 hijackers;

” all those Somali immigrants living in Minnesota, bloc-voting for Al Franken before flying to Syria to fight with ISIS;”
I read that various crimes have gone up by as much as 400% . The Somalis are the reason.
Thanks for the ping.
