So it seems the H-1B quota system is designed do to short circuit the supply and demand function of wages for domestic STEM workers

You don't know what you're talking about. The H-1B workers in most of the work force are techies and highly skilled contractors that major companies are unable to attain domestically due to whatever factors. And such workers are highly compensated along with their American co-workers.

My company was one of those who required the H-1b contractors.

And for what it's worth, each and every one was closely monitored to insure their Visas were updated and those who weren't were immediately released.........

You don't know what you're talking about.

My entire department in a "major" IT corporation was laid off in 1999 and replaced by an out sourcing contractor who only hired H-1B. I almost lost my house and my marriage suffered. I eventually was hired back when my "major" IT employer realized that mistake they had mad 2 years later.

So I am very familiar with the H-1B visa program.

And for what it's worth, each and every one was closely monitored to insure their Visas were updated and those who weren't were immediately released.........

Lie, the H-1B program is so abused and corrupt it is the butt of jokes.

The H-1B workers in most of the work force are techies and highly skilled contractors that major companies are unable to attain domestically due to whatever factors. at the wages being offered.

Fixed.
