How I Helped Todd Akin Win — So I Could Beat Him Later
Politico ^ | August 11, 2015 | Claire McCaskill

Posted on 08/12/2015 2:53:54 PM PDT by Clintonfatigued

t was August 7, 2012, and I was standing in my hotel room in Kansas City about to shotgun a beer for the first time in my life. I had just made the biggest gamble of my political career—a $1.7 million gamble—and it had paid off. Running for reelection to the U.S. Senate as a Democrat from Missouri, I had successfully manipulated the Republican primary so that in the general election I would face the candidate I was most likely to beat. And this is how I had promised my daughters we would celebrate.

PPP also polled and had him ahead. I wonder how much they were paid by the rats for that

Wanna know why Akin lost?

Because the same “Conservatives” that screamed bloody murder about one stupid statement by Akin found it within themselves to vote for a guy that burns aborted babies for profit. For President no less.

That level of sheer idiocy is thy Akin lost.

I was for Sarah Steelman, who is also fervently pro-life.

It’s one thing to be for another candidate based on beliefs. It’s another to be part of a cattle stampede of mindless animals.

Claire McCaskill,*definitely* exempt from ObamaCare

And very probably supportive of Planned Barrenhood's sale of dead baby parts.

I looked up Todd Akin back that year and I could tell he was a political accident waiting to happen. Also, he had never run in a competitive general election before, always winning elections in safely Republican constituencies. He never had to think before he spoke because of that.

I have nothing against Akin as a fellow human being, but he had a duty to drop out of the race when it became clear he was unelectable.

Much as I despise her, she did exactly as I suspected all along. She helped Akin along just long enough to drub him on Election Day. It was a brilliant stroke of genius.

Wrong! Todd Akin was electable, and in fact, he was leading in the polls until Karl Rove opened his fat mouth and disrespected him on national TV.

Karl Rove and the rest of the GOPe could not handle that their oh so precious “electable” candidate was beaten by a Conservative in the primary.

Rove and the GOPe continue to try to sabotage Conservatives. Now, most notably, their target is Ted Cruz.

Politico is pimping her book for her. But, there is another reason that this story is running right now. The message is that this is what the Democrats are doing right now for the Republican primary, they are betting that the conservatives will be stupid again and fall for this same trick, and they want to give a heads up to Lefties so that they know what is going on.

Many on Free Republic will definitely fall for it again, and again. As McCaskill points out, it’s easy and it’s cheap.

What trick? Where are the ads from Democrats warning us against one of the primary candidates?

The problem for us is that if we pump up a far-left candidate like Obama, they end up getting elected anyway. Right now Drudge is pushing Sanders. But there isn’t any candidate too far-left that the Democrat base wouldn’t happily push up to victory in the general election. And since the far-left controls most of the media, there’s no way that they will highlight any extreme statements by that candidate. Obviously we saw that statements like Obama saying his plan would make electricity prices skyrocket are simply ignored by the media.

When you have the money advantage and a lovingly compliant MSM, you can legally play this game. Harry Reid did it in Nevada in 2010 by helping Sharon Angle beat Sue Lowden and Jerry Tarkanian in the GOP primary. Either one of them would have given Harry a far greater fight in the general election.

“... Target is Ted Cruz”

And .. does this explain to some people why FOX will hardly mention Ted’s name .. even when he’s in 2nd place in the polling .. and they’re showing him at 4% instead.

Disgusting people.

Comrade Bernie is the “extremist” on the left
The Donald is the “extremist” on the right.

The only “responsible” choice for all “Conservative” and middle of the road “Independents” is to choose the smart, experienced centrists: Secretary PIAPS / Senor Jebby.

Who will get CRUSHED by the Hildabeast once the MSM gets the tip to launch Armageddon against the GOPe Infidel.

Time to get Medieval.
Let’s bring Our Man Ted across that line!

Now, most notably, their target is Ted Cruz.

No, the target under this scenario and right now is Jeb Bush. He is the guy that they believe will be the easiest to defeat and therefore they are doing everything to help his efforts.

Of course, it's early and someone else emerge as the "easiest for the Democrats to beat". The point is that the Democrats are working hard to manipulate our primary process and they will throw alot of money at it, especially if Hillary has no real opponent.
