Akin, Mourdock, Christine O’Donnell and others stopped amnesty.
Akin’s buddy Steve King trolled Karl Rove for a year in Iowa while bashing “electable” Gowdy and the other RINOs pushing amnesty.
I give credit to King, Sessions, Vitter, Akin, Trump and Huckabee for killing congressional amnesty.
The fact that Trump or Huckabee threatened third party runs over different issues scared the GOPE.

Yep.. I remember that well. A few days after Akin blew up his campaign with that “legitimate rape” comment, PPP had him one point ahead of McCaskill... BUT it was with an R+9 sampling... hardly representative of the political balance of MO. PPP, a dem outfit, was doing its portions to fool Akin into staying in the race.
