It’s one thing to be for another candidate based on beliefs. It’s another to be part of a cattle stampede of mindless animals.
I looked up Todd Akin back that year and I could tell he was a political accident waiting to happen. Also, he had never run in a competitive general election before, always winning elections in safely Republican constituencies. He never had to think before he spoke because of that.
I have nothing against Akin as a fellow human being, but he had a duty to drop out of the race when it became clear he was unelectable.
