Former First Lady Nancy Reagan is inviting 16 Republican presidential candidates to participate in the CNN/Reagan Library presidential debate on September 16.
Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore, who participated in the debate of lower-tier candidates last week, has not yet been invited. Candidates must achieve an average of at least 1% of support in three recognized national polls before September 10 to be included in the debate, as well as meeting other criteria.
The top 10 contenders who made it into the primetime Fox News/Facebook debate last week - Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Chris Christie, John Kasich -- have all been invited as well as six of the seven candidates who participated in the earlier debate: Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, Carly Fiorina, Lindsey Graham and George Pataki.

Thank you. I was half listening to the news report on Perry this morning and wasn't sure if it was for real.

Nancy is 94. I hope they didn’t let her lick the envelopes.

"Mark Halperin is a serious and fair-minded journalist," Cruz wrote. "Today he kindly issued an apology for some silly questions he asked me in an interview. The apology was unnecessary -- no offense was taken, nor, I believe, intended -- but is certainly appreciated."

Yes it was in the news yesterday on various sites. He claims he’s staying in, money or not,
for the first three primary state elections. We’ll see.

+100. Jindal is also far more solidly conservative. Jindal’s personal story and his accomplishments as a first generation American are not just inspiring, he’s a reproach to the poverty pimp democrats and RINOS. His parents were LEGAL immigrants who came here to make a contribution to this country, not leech off it. He exemplifies his parents’ values: he’s the only one in the bunch who still regards being in public office as public service, not self service.

They turned in awful performances in the kiddie table debate too. We don’t need them sucking up valuable airtime.
