Reports have emerged that Donald Trump has given the “you’re fired” treatment to his ally and adviser Roger Stone. However, Stone said that he was the one who called it quits with Trump, saying that his constant feuding is distracting from the core issues.

Trump told The Washington Post‘s Robert Costa that Stone would dispute how the split happened, and indeed, Stone said he was the one who called it quits. The real estate mogul insisted that the move was a result of Stone not being a serious contributor to his campaign, while also citing the publicity his statements have recently received.

A Trump spokesperson reportedly told MSNBC, “we have a tremendously successful campaign and Roger wanted to use the campaign for his own personal publicity.

Absolutely fired, in my opinion. They gave him a chance to save face and resign. I see why he was fired. What joke. Move on . Nothing there except roger is finished. Go Trump!!

For reading other sites, Roger is a establishment hack. He loved Trump though. Good for him to be gone. Roger walked Trump into a firing squad Thursday.

He has a tattoo of Richard Nixon on his back.

Regardless of how you feel about Nixon, that's just a little weird.

As I remember it, Steven Schmidt was employed by the McCain campaign to make sure Sarah Palin didn't fight back against the media and the Left.

Trump had Roger Stone telling him not to be "feuding" so much.

Trump fired Stone. Because Trump knows that being willing to take a stand and put up a fight is what people are looking for. It would have made a difference in 2008 too.

Flashback:

Ronald Reagan told journalist and presidential scholar Theodore White that “There was a feeling that I was just kind of a spokesman for John Sears.” Sears had been attempting to consolidate power in the Reagan campaign in 1980. He overstepped his bounds and was fired. William Casey was hired to take his place. Casey demanded administrative control of the campaign, but had no desire to control policy and by extension the personnel choices of the Reagan Administration—something John Sears was boldly attempting to control.
