Someone needs to slay the beast and I don't know who will do it. The simple fact is, the status quo fears this man insanely, and that is probably the best we can hope for at this point in time.

Exactly the point I was going to make. Trump is thinking much faster than he is talking, if you actually watch/listen to him you can tell when he switches gears and he ends his current sentence mid-thought. Which is exactly why you get the “whatever” because he was finished with it.
